Dude makes a good point when he says that the KK crew could have said it wasn't meet the medic. It would have been nice of them to not lead all of those people on, but to be completely honest I probably would have done the same.
Still, it wasn't entirely KK's fault that everyone got all disappointed. They just had really bad timing. Not to mention that they were profusely apologizing when they made the announcement. It seemed to me that they genuinely didn't think that they'd get that many people turning up.
Eh, give it a week and everyone with half a brain will be over it. Nobody got hurt by it, so it'll just be another Wiki Cap bitchfest.

They never did lead people on, they never in any way hinted that the surprise would be Meet the Medic news

Well, only about 1000 people have one at the moment, and you've got to take in to account the people that don't know and won't find out, the people who can't pass the quiz, and the people who know and don't care enough to get one. It might outnumber the Soldier Medal at some point, but it'll still be pretty damn rare.
Especially when you consider that 11,112 medals are out there and they still go for outrageous prices.

I think KK might even shut down. I never liked it really. Especially all the overused meme jokes. But i can't say they deserve all the hate, but they fucked up. And they need to accept that. Not put the blame on other things.

I don't think people don't know what opinion is any more. Kritzkast is terrible in that guy's opinion, there is no proven facts that make Kritzkast terrible. I've listened to about 60 of their podcasts and when people say they used over-used memes etc, that's one of the few occurrences I've heard them mention them.

For all the people bitching about it being a bad method to distribute hats, using the steam group, what would have been a better way to ensure the most of your fans and the least of other people get the hat as possible

I am not part of kritzkast and looking from the outside, yes, I do think they should have done more to tellpeople off the bat that it wasn't what some were expecting but the pure hatred being directed towards both kritzkast and even myself for being affiliated with them is absolutely disgusting

Have the questionnaire not immediately telling the person that they were correct or not (although allowing them to change their answers at any time) and then distributing the hat at a later date much like how VAC will take an undetermined time before employing a VAC ban to ensure that people won't know for sure what is and what isn't detected. Doing it that way would ensure that people who were in the group but never really listened wouldn't be able to find answer sheets online because no one would know for sure what the correct answers are except for those involved with creating it. Unfortunately, some of the questions weren't exactly easy, but you can still change your answer if you think you're wrong, doing research by digging through the podcast archives would do some good.
Just my two cents on how it could have been improved. Not an alternative, but improvements couldn't have hurt :v:
