I like my minning light, despite some guys say is common (traders), for me it's great.
Its funny, back when hats first came out, it was rare to see someone with a hat. Now, its rare to see someone WITHOUT them.
I payed 3 hats for the Fez not because it's rare, but because I fucking [B]LOVE[/B] that hat.

What I'm really scared of is Unusuals getting to this point. Unusuals right now are about as common as Hats originally were when they first came out. TF2 will look terrible if they get as common as hats are now.

Yeah man, while I only trade for "value", I'm never taking my Tyrant's off. Same with the Tyrolean and Modest Pile of Hat. They might be super-common, but they're my favorites.
The hats I like and have are already the rarest in the game so no complaints from me.
The only reason I'd desire a rare hat is to trade it for a hat I want.
My friend traded me his Napper's Respite for a Brigade Helm. I didn't like either too much, so I accepted. I then traded the Napper's Respite for the Old Guadajara. It may be a bit more common, but I like it. :3:

I helped out a ton of people on a trading server by giving away hats, crafting them, trading my hats for worthless crap like scrap metal so other people could have it, etc etc and one said he's gonna repay me with a hat when his evil scheme to get tons of hats will have succeeded. V:v:V

Its fine, its just... your trade would honestly fit well in the "Scam Trades" thread. So you can't really get mad for people not accepting it.

Yeah, this is also why I'm collecting a ridiculous amount of hats. I'm hoping that Valve adds "Wrapping Paper" as a drop item, or allows you to buy like 5 of it for a dollar, and it would do the same thing that the Secret Saxtons do, except it would use YOUR items. If they add that, I'm going to trade my vintages for multiple non-vintages, and then gift one of the received hats away whenever my team wins the round. I do that with the Saxtons now, but they usually give out something like a Flare Gun, so spending $1 on each is REALLY ANNOYING.

Same thing was said to me when I traded my troublemaker's tossle cap for the baker boy. The baker boy is the best hat in the game in my opinion.
i usually base how common or uncommon hats are by how they are priced in the store, besides hatless

I don't really care too much about non-poly hats anymore, I love naming the default weapons that I use. That is far more valuable to me than a hat.
Just saying, people looking to trade their hats have a perfectly good right to pick and choose what they want in exchange for their own. If someone wanted your Xbox 360 and offered you a Gameboy Color in return, you would say no, right? (Excluding all remarks about 360 is a terrible console.)
I wear a golden Ghastly Gibus that I renamed Gibus of Glory on all my characters except for the soldier (because I like to spam Holy Hand Grenades with the Rocket Jumper).
I traded 3 of my hats for a Dapper Topper, now I have my favourite soldier hat.

I traded a couple of hats for the sniper hat I wanted. Then I traded a crappy hat for a name tag, which I wanted. Cue incredulous server. It's not about how rare they are, it's whether you want a hat or not.
