I can't even track of hat rarities. It's like some kind of stock fucking exchange. One day Napper's Respite is worth 82 hats and the other day you can trade it for a stick of gum and a Flare Gun.
I'd always wanted a sombrero for Pyro, ever since hats were first introduced. I love my Guadalajara.

Totally agree.
Theres nothing I like better than an entire server going, "OMG WTF WHY U TRADE UR HATZ THAT SHITZ COMMEN" when I finally get my hands on a blokes bucket hat. Even after I explained that I judge hats on looks and not rarity, they were still confused. I traded my trophy belt for that hat dammit, and it's worth it. But good luck trying to find a hat on a trade server.

Also I traded my cat in the hat for a tyrants helm, the hat I've always wanted and people reckon I got ripped off, lmfao, one of the worst looking hats for one of my faves? ok
collectors are fucking hilarious. the only practical purpose for hats (other than set bonuses, goddamn) is so that other server regulars can identify you without being on your team and looking right at you, so there's no reason to have more than one hat for the same class.

Too rare ? I have only 1 (lament and gibus is crap).
I have Brigade Helm and Handyman's Handle. I think Brigade Helm looks better but when I wear the Handyman's Handle I often get compliments for it. I don't think rarity is a bad thing. It makes the rare hats more rewarding to acquire. It's just sad that it might outshadow the hats that are good only because of their looks.

I hate the set hats but the bonuses are so great...
I'd wear the nappers over my brigade helm but I don't have an orange paint that makes it look better so yeah.
Also I love my batter's helmet and I hate it when people are like OMFG YOU HAVE TWO BONKS CRAFT A BONK HELM or alternative: OMG TRADE IT FOR A BONK HELM. Then I tell them I traded a bonk helm to get it and they are all like :gonk:

See, when Steam's servers go down and everyone's locked out of the loadout, TF2 suddenly gets interesting.
There's no more FaN or Short-Stop to worry about. No randomly-spammed Huntsman arrows. No Natascha around corners. No Sword-n-Board..
There's also no hats. Not only does this actually improve my game's performance, it just generally looks better. It's really rare I see a heavy without crap all over his model, at the very least, a Gibus and bronze medal.
My personal opinion on the Elli's Hat.

It wouldn't fit at all if it weren't for that both Ellis and Scout are young and scrawny. It is otherwise very unfitting his character.

Hell I have one Killer's Kabuto, and it's worth everything to me simply because I own it. I don't judge if it's a common or a rare hat.
