Ah okay, doesn't matter. I like it, I would want it.
But despite this thread, people still value some hats more than the others, so I was kinda like being sarcastic
Hachimaki can't be non vintage :smug:
Not really. They can only be Genuine iirc.
I love my Baker and I'm not trading it away. Same with Bucket hat(I'm forced to love it, cause it's crafted from metal made from achievement items) and Fro(I traded Gl. Bonnet for it, so I could rename it some way, look at it if you want)

what
as far as I know they don't drop or anything.

I have 290 hours on TF2 and I've only ever found 1 hat. Sola Topi...
I have 290 hours on TF2 and I've only ever found 1 hat. Sola Topi...
985 hrs, havent found a single hat :v:
I also dislike tha fack, that everyone's like "Dude earbuds is 6 v. hats "(or whatever I don't follow the trading sh*t) While they're all like "Meh Killing Floor items are worth 1 refined" both of these are limited. How the f*ck is 1 item 100x more worth than 2 other limited items? OK! I get it, if it's something as rare as Soldier's medal... but the rest is just bollocks... and don't make me start about unusuals and their piece o' sh*t particles!
I traded my lumbricus lid for a teamcolor paint, and gave my friend my foster's facade. That's how much I care about rarity.

Gave a Foster's Facade to a newbie, because I didn't care about it. :c00lbert:
I traded my fez for a blighted beak and a milkman for a toque.
Why? because those hats were ugly and I got some awesome ones for em'

those hats are too mainstream
i prefer my indie hats because i wear them ironically
I gave my Lumb lid to a friend for free, when I knew how rare it was.
He gave it away for a Dapper Dopper. Was I angry? Not at all. [sp]Ok maybe a little...[/sp]
I like hats that fit the art style or are just overwhelmingly awesome/lulzy.
Rarity/vintageness means just next to nothing to me (save I'd like to get maximum amount out of vintage stuff I happen to have, being the stingy bastard I am).
I.e. the first few sets of hats are great, namely the ones based off of real, normal hats (fedora, tyrolean, beanie, baker boy etc).
Then there are some that are just awesome like the Chieftain's Challenge, Hound Dog (I dropped one but don't play heavy, traded it away) and Hustler's Hallmark.
As for lulzy there is the Magistrate's Mullet (which I am fortunate enough to have), the Pyromancer, Guad (traded from Hound Dog, apparently a "bad trade") & Whiskered Gent (which I just traded for, despite never playing pyro but I deffo wasn't going to use that Ritzy that just dropped) and possibly the crown jewel the Steel Pot.
The out there ones like Dapper (I'd rather see a a literal piece of shit on their heads), Spartan, Hard Counter, Pugilist's and Reggaelator are just AWFUL.
My favorite hat at the moment is the Mountain Cap that I currently can't get for less than six refined because everyone in the world sucks.
Were I to rank classes in order of hat appropriateness/how I like them it would be…hmm
Engie, Spy, Medic (dropped from #1 due to Geisha and Berliner sucking), Pyro (zaniness is okay for Pyro, I guess), Scout (they all work, some are just lame), Sniper (fuck Snaggletooth, Larrikin could do without), Demo, Soldier (kept from last due to various olde war helmets being pretty good, excepting the spartan) and Hoovy.
Edit: Wow, I analyzed that way too much, but I'm supposed to be writing about goddamn FERN growth for a lab, who could blame me for procrastinating with bullshit?
I like hats as a customisation option, but I fucking hate them as a status symbol. That shit is silly.
I go for look. I mean I got a Larrikin Robin once, and traded it a for a V. Killing Floor set. I mean when I first learned that I got ripped off I was kinda "oh god that was dumb" then I remembered I didn't even like how the Robin looked and prefer my Stockbreaking Gp-5 wielding pyro. So I'm pretty content.
I thought maybe this would be a thread about how there's just too many hats and they aren't NEAT AND SPECIAL like they used to be
But then it was a point I sort of agree with and turned into a "I TRADED THIS MORE VALUABLE HAT FOR A SHITTIER ONE 8)" circlejerk or something. Eh.
By the way, Baker Boy would seem most natural hat for Scout for any Russian player. You (don't)know why.
Apart from the Hound Dog.
It's still impossible to get.
Is that why I have gotten dozens in my TF2 history through crafting and trading?
They're nice hats, not considered too common at all, but please.
It's a dime a dozen in my book.

Lol, look at date of his post, dumbass.
to be honest, i've been playing team fortress 2 since the day of release, i've played it everyday since then
and not ONCE have i ever had a hat drop..
but however, they could at least make the hats do something.
for example the bonk helm could give a longer duration of the bonk's speed increase
the heavy's umbrella hat could reduce the effects of jarate
there are plenty of ways they could make hats do something usefull

Oh no, we don't need any of that.
Remember the first day of the Polycount update? And how the hats are needed for the bonus?
Yeah. Not a pleasant experience. Probably why Valve made the new sets not require the hat.
To be honest.
Remove all hats and there won't be a problem with "Hats"

Get in the queue.
Also, the only time I bothered searching for V. Hats, all I got was a bunch of people trying to scam me.
I like tyrants helm:smith:
