I am infact writing my own forum software - I want to heavily integrate the forum with other site content, and: a) doing that with another forum software would be a pain, and I like knowing exactly what's going on under the hood; b) we don't really need 90% of the features of a full-fledged forum software.

But it's not like I'm reinventing the wheel, I'm indeed using CakePHP(an MVC framework), which by itself takes care of most of the hassle - the forum work was mostly just setting up associations, printing out models into markup and some simple logic and actions for stuff like hidden forums and edits - Cake takes care of the pagination, the Auth component handles logins and user accounts, I wrote my own permissions module but that was a piece of pie, etc.

(VB was our first plan, but like it's been said, the license costs a small fortune)

You can see it when the site is live and you stumble upon a 404! Galago, if you want to do something, try and figure out why the nav bar doesn't load often and something causes the site to have extra width (to the point where you can scroll horizontally).

Looks like the JS might be effecting the CSS settings.
Wouldn't hurt to check it over it to see if there are any leaks.

Yeah something's screwy. Not sure why it hasn't been looked into since it's been this way for a while. I could look over it but it's not my deal, unless Galago is feeling lazy I'll totally do it. Actually I'll just give it a go.

Just noticed though, when it does load white if you stay on the page long enough it will eventually load hah.

Pretty sure the above is the culprit!

added overflow: hidden; to the #spotlight_box in CSS.

That fixed the scrolling bullshit, but it still loads white.

Erm, does this site really need jquery, as flashy as it is I don't really think its needed but then that is ironic coming from me who uses it to animate the background on my own site. :v:

This is really complicated cause a plugin was used from jquery instead of writing it from scratch or using the regular $.animate

I don't know why it's not working, I think it's a bug inside the blend library Galago used, aka /js/blend.js that is causing it to not work randomly, not sure why. I be stumped yo.

Guhh, I didn't want you guys looking at an only partially finished website. :ohdear:

A few things:
1. The 404 is just an image I was working on, it'll be changed, I'm not so fond of it.
2. The scrolling is indeed because of that image, but fortunately it's just a placeholder. The real effect will be achieved later on.
3. The whiteness will need to be fixed, but that's not my job, considering I have no idea what to look for.
4. The jQuery animations have been modified to prevent the "multiple-scroll" effect (I just named it!), where if you scroll over it a bajillion times the animations queue. I have fixed that, so it's all good.
