Diablo II's customization essentially boiled down to "Put in weapon for random percent resistance" or "Put all of these in weapon to get yelled at in duels"
off-topic, but
I still play diablo sometimes, but once you get into the "hell" mode part of the game, there is no point in questing anymore. All the servers are either bots grinding end bosses into paste or trade servers with unpayably high items or duel servers. But noone actually plays the game anymore and I regret choosing to go hell mode :(
This update looks like it's gonna be really awesome. I wonder when it's gonna be out.
Hopefully during May if we're lucky, or end of June at the latest. I'm bristling with anticipation for the new additions to the Mercenary's Arsenal.
The concept of Slots and Isotopes sound interesting, although the isotopes would probably have their disadvantages as well as advantages, for balance reasons. And the name "Isotope" kinda implies radioactivity and decay, though hopefully the Isotopes aren't temporary or anything.
I'm wondering how the Isotopes will be obtained, though. Will they drop like most gear (similar to Gems in Diablo 2), or will we need to craft together weapons with similar matching attributes in order to craft Isotopes? For example; crafting together some Blutsaugers and Black Boxes might yield a Vampirium Isotope, the Health Stealing Particle, whereas crafting together Nataschas and Short Stops might yield Slowdownium Isotopes (name speaks for itself).
It's an interesting thing, and I await seeing how it'll work.
Never mind, I want this to be a surprise as much as is possible.
Guys, the thread on SPUF about this update now even got deleted. Valve, why do you have to reveal your update so cheaply?
So is this thread next :ohdear:?

Probably because now their announcement plans have been wrecked and will have to reveal that this update is coming soon-ish. (5 months)
Aw, no update today :(
It's saturday. Why would you think they'd update today.
So is this thread next :ohdear:?
Probably not, because they aren't the bosses here. They would first need to ask some mods over here.
TF2 is so great the updates will never stop raining on my ass
Oh yeah baby shove that update up my ass
Why do you think that they'll update soon? Come on, remember Valve time.

When was the last time valve bothered with more announcement than "Oh yeah TF2 updated a little while ago, here's a supposedly witty blog post about hats and that stupid good vs. bad tournament"?
Why do you think that they'll update soon? Come on, remember Valve time.
Because they were even translating already what means that the content was ready in English.

I'm missing the good old updates. :/

What's odd about this leak is that STS usually doesn't get the names of the items until after they're actually released.
For whatever reason, this time they decided to do it early (and look what happened)

Yes, you're right. Everytime an update was released, I had to explain to my friends, what the items actually are doing because their English isn't that good. It's kind of sad, that it got leaked now, while they just wanted to do something good. :(
I'd love them to do a comic with this update.
That'd be great, but not as great as a release of Meet the Medic.
Every thread on SPUF mentioning the leak is getting locked on the excuse that's it's merely a conspiracy thread
Wait... is this the same SPUF we're talking about? They make a new conspiracy thread every single second with no proof at all, and a new thread comes up with proof and it's now a "conspiracy"
Valve's not even being shy about covering this one up
Hey now even the thread on SPUF which was asking where the old thread is now even got closed with the words of the moderator AciD: "Conspiracy!"
EDIT (Ned was faster^^):

So, this was intended? Oh my god!
I'm soo confused.. What's happening with the strings and the SPUF thread? And what does it mean?
I'm soo confused.. What's happening with the strings and the SPUF thread? And what does it mean?
- The strings were leaked last night showing new items being added
- Valve removed the strings from the translation server
- Any mention of the strings on SPUF is being deleted or locked
Edit: A SPUF thread about isotopes was just deleted
I'm soo confused.. What's happening with the strings and the SPUF thread? And what does it mean?
SPUF threads are getting closed. The strings were removed. I'm confused too, because there was not one word of a real Valve employee since. (AciD is a volunteer moderator)
They probable locked the german community since there was not one news or thread on tfportal.de and the admin there (MeeB) is moderator on the german translation server.
Shit's getting real now. Hell, it's already probably gotten real already.

They locked the german translation server?
Wow...
So they locked some threads and removed the strings. What does that mean?
The next "Wondering thread" on SPUF got deleted without a commentary.
Oh hai. There's just no point in talking about something which credibility cannot be verified.
AciD, go away, Propagandist!
Oh hai. There's just no point in talking about something which credibility cannot be verified.
I posted proof and it was confirmed by others in the translation project
But the link to the proof is down and I didn't save any of it, so if someone has them backed up, please re-upload them
I don't get what deleting threads on SPUF and deleting the strings have to do with anything. Explain please?
I don't get what deleting threads on SPUF and deleting the strings have to do with anything. Explain please?
nothing. The "strings" are like tf2 code and descriptions. They were put on translation servers of steam. Community volunteers are picked and granted access to them to translate things for valve's games. The stuff was put onto it. Ned leaked it. Valve then locks spuf threads about it and removed the strings from the servers. Ned didn't save the proof and pics. Ned is looking for people who have it saved, re-upload em. People are just saying that because it shows valve's retaliation and what they did to combat the leak, etc.
