Disagreed. I'm translating the Dutch versions myself, and just knowing your own language well, and a bit of the English one isn't going to cut it. Both my English and Dutch are pretty decent (in fact, I make money by teaching high school kids how to write and read English properly) but that's exactly the hard part: reading English and understanding it is one thing, but knowing the best way to translate it can be pretty hard.
There's also the fact that this isn't exactly translation: it's transliteration. Know how in Portal 2, Cave Johnson is talking about "making a quick 120 bucks"? Just translating it won't do, because this sentence is explicitly talking with 'informal' words, like "making a quick" instead of "earn" and "bucks" instead of "dollars". That's all factors you have to take into consideration, and it can be damn hard, no matter how well you speak both languages.
This. Translating expressions and jokes that have no equivalent on the language you're translating them to is specially difficult, you have to know when and how to use dynamic or formal equivalence correctly and have a balance between both of them (Because making literal translations or no translations at all is a big error, and changing a dialogue to something completely different that makes no sense with everything else you're translating is a bad decision too)
And then there are the large variety of concepts that really don't have a clean translation.
And the fact that you're almost always losing connotations anyway.
Obviously the Demoman is getting a set with two melee weapons. They wanted to make it three, but some dude had this really awesome idea about the Demoman wearing pink beach slippers. They fit in an Arabian theme, because deserts and beaches are both made of sand.
It could be like that other Polycount pack were Demoman got boots for an item.
Maybe the 101 demoknight thing means eventually the demoman will have 101 melee weapons.
At the rate it's going, this sounds true.

They're taking away his primary and secondary slot, and they're giving him three melee slots instead.

maybe its a pun on 101 arabian nights? So its apart of the sniper set?
If you disregard the two reskinned melee weapons Demoman has, Scout has the same amount of melee weapons as Demoman.
Scout has more melee weapons exclusive to him, since Soldier shares a couple of Demoman's weapons.
And I believe Scout has the most weapons in the entire game.

I don't know though, I thought the Ullapool Caber was actually pretty clever.
I like demoknights. Way more balanced than the horrifying sticky bomb launcher. But yeah, instead of bombing demoman with melee weapons (no pun intented), they should just nerf sticky bomb lancher.
They should nerf people who whine about the sticky launcher.
this boring now
we have no idea when valve will update, it could be a month or it could be 4 days
either way its too long now that we know all this awesome shit is coming out

Guess he's even with Heavy, both have 9 weapons (not including reskins like Iron Curtain, Lugermorph or Fishcakething).
What I don't get is why everybody complains with the beta weapons that we now only see Soldiers + Pocketmedics. Took me quite some time as a Medic to find a Soldier who actually agreed to try the beta-launcher. I kept pocketing him, but since I was using the quick-fix, I was able to heal all others much more and faster, so the entire team stayed alive a lot longer.
Plus since you can't overheal your target, he sure dies a lot easier compared to the normal medigun, but that way you also get the chance to use your other weapons instead of always running away (due to the extremely fast healing-rate it isn't that much of a big deal to lose a fully charged uber anymore).
I will be fine if the new weapons have the beta-stats, as long as the quick-fix will make it.

But they'll make sure to move the Targe to a melee slot. Wouldn't want to leave that out.
These all look pretty cool, I really like the new solider set; it fits really well.

Close, but no doughnut. What you're thinking of is A Thousand and One nights.

Yes, there were 1001 arabian nights as far as I know. I wonder how many "Arabian Knight" references will those items have
If Specialty mode is what I think it is, I hope it's turns out to be part of the mode. "This week's specialty! You must kill 101 Demoknights! No Respawning! Saharan Spy and Lawrence of Australia only."

I really hope theyre releasing at least one real game mode int this update, not just some mod like medieval was. :S

Raid's probably a real game mode. Specialty is questionable, it sounds more like L4D2's mutations.

I think "Raid" sounds like it's going to be a neutral CTF. Remember the fully complete grey neutral briefcase inside the game files? They could perfectly use that
Single Flag CTF sounds do-able, since CTF is probably the only game mode without a variant so far.
It could also be "plant the bomb" type gameplay, a la Halo.
That would be great. I was hoping to get more of those TFC based maps.
Personally I feel the Demoman's been neglected heavily. Sure, Demoknight's been getting a large amount of gear, but DemoMAN has only got a few items, even though he shares hats with the Demoknight.
There's so many different explosives that Demoman could use; proximity mines, homing grenades, extra-bouncy bombs, remote-control explosive toy cars, so many possibilities. And what do we get instead? A 2-shot grenade launcher with bombs that break on surfaces, a sticky launcher with advanced bomb targeting, and a grenade on a stick. Ok, so the latter two are awesome, but there are so many other types of bomb that the Demoman could be playing with if Mann Co could sell them!

I wish there was an unlockable TNT pack like the one of the first TF2 trailers. You only have one that reloads pretty much like the sandvich and it could be really useful for taking out sentry nests
Yes. I'm sick getting new stuff that goes with this Demoknight theme again and again. But infact: The demoman is a class which's unlocks are hard to balance, so they created a new niche. I mean look at the ScoRes. It has like 6 upsides and only one downside to balance it with the most versatile weapon in the game: The Sticky launcher. I am hoping that at least one ranged weapon is part of the set.
I just came up with an idea for a new engie weapon. A PDA replacement that would allow you to have your buildings self destruct so that they do damage to enemies near them.
Wasn't the demoknight created orginally so the demoman would have the ability to perform in close range combat without blowing himself up?
Heavy wrestler hat should be in misc, in my opinion.
Yes. It did.
