well, it's good they're updating replay mode. I know a few admins who've said it's utter HELL trying to get the damn thing to work. I know of 2 servers so far that have replay working: the official Valve servers and this one trade server... but yeah, I think we all called it; a few updates, nothing special. but in EIGHT DAYS... OH GOD YES... we get: 2 new game modes (one is rumored to be a boss mode, so basically Saxton Hale, Vagineer, Brutal Christian Sniper, and HHH Jr, but with a bot controlling the boss), a ton of new Polycount Packs (BLACK MARKET BUSINESS FTW TIMES A MILLION), a ton of assorted hats (Pyro TV head, Tudor Topper, etc), a ton of assorted little extras (new unusuals and such), and of course... HOLYSHIT MEET THE MEDIC IS HERE OH MY GOD KSJFSAFJSZDJCOJSXLJSDFKMSD. "today is a good day"- the Soldier welp, Source just updated... heh, imagine if the info was incomplete or something and we got all that shit TODAY... ah, that'd be down right nutty...

alrighty then, since the LAST two times I tried to ask this it ended up as the last post on a page and derailed by a troll respectively, so, ONE MORE TIME... I'm hoping to craft a Capone's Capper (a NUMBERED one at that), so I decided to guess the crafting recipe of the Tommslav and then craft that with 4 refined. but then I realised, what if the Tommyslav is numbered? so, if I end up getting a numbered Tommyslav, should I craft it to get a numbered Capone's Capper?

The new "set" hats are no different than any other hats. I don't even link them together anymore in my head. Like the Big Chief, is just another Heavy hat.

HARD... do new hats have a better chance of being crafted? I mean, within like 2 days, there were already upwards of 100 Ol' Geezers, despite there being a 1/100+ chance of getting one... soooo...

well, I have 4 refined and a heavy token... there's 13 craftable Heavy Hats now, after the update we'll have 3 more (Capone's Capper, Pocket Medic, and possibly Heavy Thinker). so yeah, if I craft my metal and my token right after the update, I'll have a 1/8 chance of getting something I want (numbered Capone's or Pocket Medic would be frikkin unbelievable). well... the odds are against me... but perhaps God will smile upon me and I'll make off with something relly friggin cool. here's hoping...

I think Valve caught on that we weren't too keen on there being like 50-bazillion promo items that were just reskins, so I guess they decided that the weapons may as well add something to the game as opposed to just taking up backpack space. speculation on the stats? maybe it slows him down and he gets faster after every kill?

The awards will be given in maybe another two weeks, because there will be tons of submissions to watch for Valve. So it may be possible to push out 4 updates in that time.
I just hope that VALVe would add a "Disable hats" option. I really want my art direction back.

Asking for a client side option to disable hats and or paint is a far more reasonable request then say a "vanilla" game mode. Besides the people who would use it don't usually care about hats/trading/craft etc. so its going to be a very minimal impact on the market. Personally I want it because then people might stop bitching about hats so much and talk more about things that really impact the game like weapons.
