STS big update leak - Games

Yeah well it took valve a couple of months to look through 70 entries with the Polycount pack so yeah.

wont see winners till mid to late June

then again, they could already be judging clips. as in, have everyone choose one clip they like. if they see one in the same category they like better, the previous one is knocked out.

Not ALL clips are 1 minute long exactly. And I can bet at least 3/4ths of the entries are just so terrible that the first 15 seconds indicate that it has no chances of winning.

I think they will be done by early June.

All they said was no tech demos, ie If we get anything, it's an announcement or trailer.

@Banjo OH, alrighty then, that clears things up a bit @nightlord yeah, I recall them saying that there would be 2 suprises last year... I think one was Steam on the PS3 and I don't think that they've announced the other yet (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) also, just a note: THAT WAS A JOKE (haha, fat chance...)

OK, so I just voted a bit, frankly, the system seems a bit weird, surely it'd be easier to just show one video at a time and have them rate it out of 5? But one thing that did annoy me is I kept getting really bad YouTube quality. And I don't mean the video was bad quality, I mean YouTube itself had bad quality, seriously, the buttons and numbers look pixelated a bit. Anyone know why this is and why it occasionally doesn't happen at all? EDIT: However, it does seem to only happen when I'm in fullscreen. But sometimes it just doesn't do it at all. Like, I could be watching a video and it looks perfectly fine but then when I go fullscreen, it looks all pixelated. And sometimes it looks fine in fullscreen. Why can't I get the damn "Edited:" thing to work right?

I kind of wish Valve would give us a teaser with weapons that are unrelated to sets Detonator Goal Keeper (Maybe) Quick Fix Fire Proof Suit Some other stuff (probably melee weapons) Just to kind of tide us over with some new toys to mess around with. Also more hats wouldn't hurt. Good chance to add Pie Tony's styles, sounds, i-ghosts pack and maybe make more hats paintable.

now that I think of it, it was probably a bad idea for valve to accept youtube urls... if they just put in an uploader with replay mode, we wouldn't have and music or multiple clips spliced together, but we wouldn't have all the BS with CoD videos either... I have to agree with both Chalky and Ballad. release a teaser package to get people pumped and include the new sound clips with those few weapons

As the Blog said, we're only halfway through the voting process. Though my spider-sense is tingling for something this thursday.
