The Pyro is like the G-man. Should never be fully explained, only hinted at.
as does his mutant heavy shit which is why it was so believable in fact can you guys think of any other "bosses" that would make sense that isn't Saxton, a mutant somebody, or the Horsemann's bastard child
Abominable Snowmann.

It was late night on a holiday, I was tired, felt like doing some legitimate trollan. /v/ is wise to Meet the Medic stuff, so I took it to /co/. Worked! I didn't think anyone worthwhile would pick up on it and it certainly didn't think it'd end up here of all places. So I apologize for that. But hey, maybe Valve should hire me as an idea guy. Get my own beanbag chair and everything. B)

He cut off his own hand to replace it for a robotic one, there's probably all sorts of insane things he would attempt.
also, am I the only one who thinks this whole "Franken-Heavy" thing is a tad... dark? by TF2 standards I mean. it's like, here's this great, iconic character (tied with the Spy as the face of TF2). he's funny, he's likable, so let's have him go through some excruciating surgery, after which he painfully turns into a hulking beast that has to be put down by his former comrades... ... "but... I loved that doctor...." <:(
I agree. There is so MUCH content: Two new gamemodes (introducing at least 2 new maps), (at least) 4 item sets, 1 of them Valve-made (remember, everything that Valve made was new and innovative), (at least) 3 non-set bound weapons, custom badges, isotopes (I have no idea what that is, but it sounds awesome!) and many things more that wasn't leaked. What did Ned say? We didn't even see half of the things leaked? AND OF COURSE: M E E T T H E M E D I C!
There's no assurance they will all be released at the same time, I'd actually be surprised to see them released all at once, knowing Valve's ways, I'd see small parts of what you listed implemented over time, bits by bits. But 'ey, it would be great don't get me wrong.
Abominable Snowmann.
I wish they did this for Christmas. This alone would've been a lot better than the shitty excuse for a holiday update we got.

The Medic experimenting on his 'friend' to try to make him better and it going horrible wrong seems like something that might happen.
I think it would be awesome to have TF2 be a bit darker and mysterious.
TF Noire.
I wish they did this for Christmas. Abominable Snowmann, Horseless Headless Horsemann, Easter Bunny... Mann...
let it be known: we demand a new Mann Co. themed monster for every major holiday. Abominable Snowmann, Horseless Headless Horsemann, Easter Bunny... Mann...
easter bunny should be a robotic monstrosity. a rab-BOT if you will.
I don't wanna harsh anyone's buzz, Yippie, but... I wouldn't... /co/unt on any of that information. Basically, I was making it up as I went along.
Heh. Good job, I'd shake your hand if I could. :v:

The Medic experimenting on his 'friend' to try to make him better and it going horrible wrong seems like something that might happen.
true... I guess it all depends how they handle it, ie. if they choose to make the Medic a complete and utter bastard or not. for example, this could play out 2 ways: 1. the Medic tries to "improve" the Heavy. shit goes wrong. or 2. the Medic is just a total bastard and wants to see what would happen if he fucked with the Heavy's innards. but yeah, it's Valve, and more importantly, it's the TF2 Team. they haven't fucked up anything this big yet, I don't see why they'd start now. either way, it should be an AMAZING video and an AMAZING mode. crank the excitement dials up to 11
I always thought of the medic and heavy as best bros. It's weird because one is a communist and the other a fascist (although Valve says no) They should hate each other, but love conquers all :3: [editline]31st May 2011[/editline] It could be the Blu medic experimenting on the Red heavy or vice versa
I always kind of assumed that the Medic was a complete sadist. He's a mad doctor that enjoys killing. I don't think it would be weird if he ended up experimenting on his teammates. I don't think that's too dark at all-- it's something that's seen in a lot of cartoons, actually. Remember when it happened to Tweety Bird? Sure, that wasn't funny, but it wasn't at all fucked up or disturbing. Certainly no more disturbing than a character permanently mutilating themselves because they want a robot arm. You guys are reading too far into this.
actually, I just noticed something interesting... at the end of the Meet The Director comic (the page with all the sweet sweet Meet the Medic teaser images), there's this one picture near the Administator's shoulder that looks sort of like some sorta mind-control helmet... maybe that's how they're going about this?

That is all stuff that the community has thought of (other then the occasional "I LOVE THIS DOCTOR" and things like that), there is nothing to show that the medic likes the Heavy more then anyone else. They just work well together.

The TF2 team has a habit of taking community ideas that work and running with them. Whether they're bros or in love or simply value one and other has comrades in their profession and nothing more, it goes as deep as the folk community says it does.
?
NOW BRING ME MY LARGE FRENCH PURFUME AND SPRAY HIM IN THE EYES BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENED TO ME.
NOW BRING ME MY LARGE FRENCH PURFUME AND SPRAY HIM IN THE EYES BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENED TO ME.
THE RAID MODE UPDATE!!! FEATURING A NEW BOSS: HANDBANANA!!! "tonight... you..."
Okay, I'm confused. Are all these new developments the result of Hersilverhammer's trolling escapades in /co/land, or are some legit?
Okay, I'm confused. Are all these new developments the result of Hersilverhammer's trolling escapades in /co/land, or are some legit?
Everything I mentioned except for details of the video and the Scout's pistol (which would fall in with the former, I guess) were based on things we know for a fact. So the majority of it is legit. Sniper's really getting that sword, Demoman's really getting that set, Medic really has that new Medigun, et cetera.
NOW BRING ME MY LARGE FRENCH PURFUME AND SPRAY HIM IN THE EYES BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENED TO ME.
NOOO, MY CREATION!
Mere speculation/fanfiction/red herrings as far as I know
fanfiction? ... MEDIC AND HEAVY ARE LONG LOST BROTHERS AND SONS OF SAXTON HALE AND MISS PAULING, WHO USED TO WORK AT APRETURE SCIENCE WHERE SHE ENGINEERED THE INFECTION FROM LEFT 4 DEAD. CALLING IT NOW.

More surprises when it actually comes out, then. Although megaheavy was fucking awesome/perfectly believable. I'm not going to toss aside that theory just yet.
no thank you, the mutations were a terrible idea (for me)
incidentally, how were the mutations a terrible idea? I mean, yeah, they weren't ALL winners, and most would NEVER make it as official game modes (take TAAAAAANNNNNK!!!!! for example), but they act as fun little diversions. I haven't played L4D2 in a while, but I remember playing a few (like TAAAAAANNNNNK!!!!!) and having a pretty fun time, if only for how rediculous things could get
