Both legs? Oh, that won't end well!
I have the scene of the one Spongebob episode in mind where he, Patrick and Mr. Krabs go on a treasure hunt. Before they start Spongebob and Patrick get some pirate costumes and Spongebob takes two peg legs and patrick two eyepatches. :v:
Actually, if the medic pack shown is getting ingame, then Medic is getting more than that. Meet the Director has a different medigun shown in the monitor images. A possibility is that Medic is getting both a community set and an official set in one update.
The Medigun in MtD is probably just the Quick-Fix though. Either way, two Mediguns.
I'm curious as to what the OTHER Medigun will be...
I mean, we have one that grants invulns (defensive power), we have one that grants crits (offensive power), we have the Quick-Fix (a different type of offensive power), so... where do we go from there?
here's my speculations:
1. the Quick-Fix, but with Uber instead of Kritz (I doubt they'd be this lazy. chance of actually happening=0.000000000000001%)
2. a Medigun that heals AND gives ammo/metal. I could see the tradeoff being something like no ubers or reduced healing or something
3. a Medigun with a rage meter. the more damage your patient does, the quicker the Uber builds. could be either Uber or Kritz.
just speculation, but hey, you never know
I'd love to see a medigun that reduces damage slightly (with a reduced healing rate), with an uber that reflects projectiles for 8 seconds. That would tickle me pink.
An Ammo-replenishing Ubercharge I would rename to something else in a heartbeat (provided its name is not something that I like that much).
1. the Quick-Fix, but with Uber instead of Kritz
Quick-Fix doesn't actually have kritz. That's just what the description says due to lack of text to describe the actual effect. But, the Quick-Fix's uber is kinda weird and hard to describe. Wiki page

It's not difficult to describe, it's just MegaHeal.
Tripled healing rate with knockback/slowdown/stun immunity for both patient and Medic.
Hmm. Fair enough. I always found it kinda confusing though.

I'd name it something like [sp]The Six Million Dollar Man, "We can rebuild him. We have the technology."[/sp]
[editline]2nd June 2011[/editline]
they just added a new weapon for the Pyro... it's a maul from Red Faction: Armageddon...
look Valve, I haven't complained about too many of the promo items.
the frying pan makes that awesome noise, the RIFT items looked badass (and work BRILLIANTLY in Medieval mode), and the whole Shogun update was ten magical flavors of awesome...
BUT I DRAW THE LINE AT A GIANT SPACE-AGE HAMMER.
THIS SHIT IS DUMB.
I kept quiet about the SpaceChem stuff (only because I honestly don't think ANYONE bought that), but this is just stupid... I don't mind the promos as long as they either fit in the game (Iron Curtain, Lugermorph, Plants VS Zombies stuff, etc.) or actually add something to gameplay and strategy (the Half-Zatoichi is a PERFECT example of a promo item done right), but this thing is just stupid...
I havent read the whole thread, but i really hope the raid/boss mode or whatever contains something to do with BLUtarch/REDmond (or whatever they're called). Something that ties in with the comics from the engi update.
This finalist voting is supposed to end Monday. Magicka Promo ends June 5th. For some reason they don't patch the RF:Armageddon items in. Hmmm...maybe Tuesday? They don't have to do much after the voting ends. The winners are chosen then. They have to give them the Saxxys and thats it. So - Next week Tuesday or Thursday. It's nearly to obvious now and I'm so excited.

The RF deal ends on the 6th, so probably a patch on the 6th to make the magicka and RF stuff tradeable, craftable and maybe droppable.

I put it down to it being 4:13, but that was the most incredibly hilarious thing I've ever read.
So what do we have item-wise so far?
- Valve-made and Community-made Medic sets (Unknown, Mean Medicine)
- Valve-made Demoman set (A Thousand And One Demoknights)
- Community-made Soldier set (Junkyard Justice)
- Community-made Sniper set (Lawrence of Australia)
- Community-made Heavy set (Black Market Business) and the Goal Keeper
- The Detonator
- Unknown Engineer set
Not bad.
EDIT: Thanks Sharc.

Speculatively the Detonator and an unknown Engineer pack too I think.

HOLY SHIT IT'S LEGIT.
OH MY GOD, SOME SHIT'S GOIN DOWN...
...
yeah, nothing will probably happen... but still, new syringe gun IN PUBLIC. maybe not tomorrow, but SOMETHING big is happening soon... I'm guessing either tomorrow or the 10th. probably not the HUGE update (with Meet The Medic and all), but it'll be SOMETHING.
Yeah, I had never noticed the engineer didn't have a set. I really should have, nobody walked around with a fucking pixie wand for a wrench. But that'd be nice, I play engie a lot.
It looks like a Needlegun, but the Sentry like apparatus on type makes me think it MIGHT be an Engineer nailgun.
Come on ranged repair mechanism!

I really like the ammo/metal ones and the rage one.
The new medi gun looks kinda big, maybe it'll be able to heal more than one person at the same time?
The thing ontop looks more like a heart rate monitor than a sentry part.

I had an idea for one. It'd be like a dispenser that replaces the medic's backpack. on the plus side, it could supply ammo/metal, heal multiple allies, and leave the medic free to fight (and watch for spies). on the downside, no overheal or uber of any kind
The thing ontop looks more like a heart rate monitor than a sentry part.
agreed. plus, it has that wierd "not really a trigger" trigger that all the syringe guns have.
I wonder... it's a possiblity that Valve had two Medic packs (one community made, one Valve made).
the valve one would have this new syringe gun, the new medigun seen in MtD, and maybe a new melee weapon, and the community one would be Mean Medicine... now that the Saxxys are in their final stages, Valve could be slowly drumming up excitement for Meet the Medic and this huge-ass update...

No uber is always the worse idea posible.

Only if you have one medic around.
