Yeah, especially with spawn protection.
What's up with all the engineers building sentries in spawn anyway? If someone tries to come kill people in spawn you can easily kill them during spawn protection. They're like griefers building sentry nests in spawn, but dead serious.

Because either 1) They dont know that Spawn Protection is on 2) They hope to get a kill when the Spawn Protection wears off.
If you surf as a Scout you can use the FaN to knock yourself back on track if you mess up slightly, which is really useful if you're just starting out.

And FaN doesn't stop you midair like doublejump stops, you keep your momentum but gain a little distance and height. Useful if you ask me.

I had to do this to get past a sentry one time :(
I hate the Scout update, it breaks shooting while surfing (at least for me), whenever I shoot, I lose all momentum.
Stop using the fan it's a worthless piece of shit.
Use the FaN correctly, it is the most powerful BLASTING GUN in the game.

I happen to be a huge fan of this new "surfing" craze, and I [I]far[/I] prefer [I]this[/I] kind of surfing, as opposed to the boring old bit-of-wood-on-a-wave nonsense!

tf2 surf is sub-par. Mostly due to the pyro sniper and engineer. Which make great campers. I fucking hate it too in tf2 that some servers allow spawnkilling.
I got banned from a server once because i built a sentry in my spawn because i got tired of being spawn killed. I was banned for tp camping.
The maps are not really well remade from css too.
