So basically it's community weapons again. Disappointing, I was expecting Valve to put in some own work for once.
So basically it's community weapons again. Disappointing, I was expecting Valve to put in some own work for once.
apart from the medic items that are you know valve made.
Well, maybe this gets me back in TF2, I really like the stats on The Enforcer and the model isn't bad, too.
To be fair the PL map is valve made. They have a good history with PL maps.
I think we've had enough PL maps for now, it would've been nice if they took a mode which was less... abundant. Still, it's not too much of a problem and I'm merely nitpicking.
I'm digging all the effort Valve has clearly done for this update. They care about us, they really do.
Even I recognize the potential for being utterly overpowered and gamebreaking the Tomislav has. [sp]I welcome it.[/sp]
The real stats for the Tomislav: +70% faster spinup +Silent spinup -25% slower firing speed +900% more tears on SPUF It has already begun.
I read that post and I can understand their concerns for it a little bit though. I especially didn't like the part about it making Pyro redundant. But I do think they should freaking wait until the gun actually comes into the game before they start bitchin'.
I lol'd at Tomislav...(cause its like old balkan name, not russian)...nevertheless, its funny...this is gonna be great update!
I can confirm this.
So basically it's community weapons again. Disappointing, I was expecting Valve to put in some own work for once.
also, its not weapons, but at the bottom of the page is a valve made map
I'm still a bit disappointed though. The old weapons had unique stats. The step from the sniper rifle to the Huntsman was huge, and so was the case for items like the sandvich, or the Bonk!. Now it's just the same weapons, witha slightly different model and +x% damage, -y% firing speed. Except for the minigun there's nothing really new.
In terms of game design, the weapons are very significantly different.
Man seeing all the beta art makes me want to try to draw some of them, (even though I'm not that good.) like demoman here, any suggestions on which to shoot for? Need something to do later :v:
That new Minigun is going to break the game somewhat, but it'll probably be nerfed in the future. Doesn't stop the gun from looking mighty sexy though.
I was hoping a new TC map.... C'mon Valve! Hydro wasn't that bad! Just refine it more!
I was rather disappointed with the items. They're hardly original that's for sure. Looking forward to "Meet the medic" though.
I was hoping a new TC map.... C'mon Valve! Hydro wasn't that bad! Just refine it more!
iirc, when ThePolitcalGamer went to Valve he did ask about potential new TC maps. Robin Walker said that if one of the mappers feels like it, they'll add one. Certainly there are a number of strong community TC maps out there if Valve wished to include another one alongside Hydro. Still, making TC maps is a complete bitch to build in Hammer when you compare it to far more popular gamemodes like 5CP, KoTH and PL/
i have 139 weapons ready for the recipies. willl i be able to craft every new weapon?
I was rather disappointed with the items. They're hardly original that's for sure. Looking forward to "Meet the medic" though.
As someone who mains Spy and Heavy, I'm very excited!
i have 139 weapons ready for the recipies. willl i be able to craft every new weapon?
You'd better hope so.
I only wonder what tomorrow is. Its probably going to be Turkish Tuesday or Trash Tuesday. But I thought Meet the Medic was tomorrow? They were dropping hint upon hint leading up to 21, unless Valve time even affects ARGs.
Dude. Dude, dude. These weapons fucking suck. I mean, they look nice. But the weapon downs and plusses fucking suck.
Dude. Dude, dude. These weapons fucking suck. I mean, they look nice. But the weapon downs and plusses fucking suck.
Im sorry but that revolver is amazing.
Actually the enforcer looks nice. [editline]21st June 2011[/editline] The eviction notice is crap though. So is the shotgun and the knife. [editline]21st June 2011[/editline] the made man better not be some kind of horrid new spy watch.
Dude. Dude, dude. These weapons fucking suck. I mean, they look nice. But the weapon downs and plusses fucking suck.
So what're you basing that evaluation on?
If they seem fun to use, then they don't suck in my book.
The knife sucks in the sense that it's too good, maybe. Pair it w/ the DR and l'etranger and you can abuse that stupid watch more than ever. Extremely annoying at the very least, horribly OP at the most.
Oh Valve you are so crazy. You know how to entertaing people because yesterday I bought Portal 2.
just realised my exams end on the 23th, and I get broadband back midnight. so going to stay up.
i wonder how the new spy revolver will work with the dead ringer, because afaik the dead ringer cloaks instantly when hit
I think I read somewhere that Valve, when they release Source Filmmaker, will include many assets used in all the Meet the team videos.
Maybe even raw files and cut scenes? :v: Would mean one could make their own version of Meet the Spy for example, with different camera angles and different order.
