WAIT the shield is called the splendid screen =( that means no pyro tv hat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B68LS6_L5M
They need to do Meet the Swordsman after Pyro.
The demo set has no downsides because the whole thing is designed like a puzzle set, because they fit together so well. I'm sure it was intended for it all to be equipped at once.
I love how everybody so far has gotten complete garbage in comparison to the demo's straight upgrades and OP pieces of shit.
It's still bringing a sword to a gun fight. Demo knights are harder to come by nowadays. I can't live without sticky bombs.
Why does the demoman have 8 melee items and only two grenade launcher/sticky launcher items? Valve what are you continuing to do to one of my favorite classes
Well, the number of explosive weapons may be low, but they are incredibly versatile and totally devastate in the right hands already.
I can see servers full with charging-turning-demomans
Anyone notice they don't talk about the hats in any of the 2 days? Incredible
yet they talked about the rose..
MtM on thursday New game mode tomorrow
I'm predicting 2 more weapon set tomorrow, along with the new game mode, then the Medic set and MtM on thursday.
Um... guys? Couldn't any demoman just equip the new sword and get health instead of ammo when they kill enemies? Hopefully Valve has thought this through and made it so that if you have any ammo-using weapons, you won't get health.
I think that's the point, maybe you won't be able to collect ammo other than from supply lockers
Why would you use eyelander over the new melee?
the new one doesn't collect heads
Honestly? I'm happy with it. But three things disappoint me: 1. The 21 stuff was actually really close to being true, but it wasn't 2. Originally people thought the Splendid Screen was for this hat. But it's not. 3. More melee Demoman? Really? Oh well, still a great update.
People who paid attention to the RTS thread already knew it wouldn't be the TV Hat. The guy who made it never submitted it, he felt it was too silly.
Demoman is now a charge vehicle? :v:
He is Swordvan :byodood:
And now all demomen will be useless melee only slot fillers.
The Demoman needs a name-change.
No grenade launcher Less resistance than the Targe n Charge Can't pick up ammo No long-ranged weapons Those are the downsides to the demo set.
What the fuck would you need ammo for as a Demoknight?
The Demoman needs a name-change.
yeah, The Chargeman
The Demo, on the other hand, has never even been to the beach —but his empty eye cavity naturally accumulates moisture that drips down his head into his throat, making him the equivalent of a one-eyed cactus that swears.
Bwahahahaha :v:
Jesus... thread's flying...
So, lemme get this straight: The shield replaces the sticky launcher, and gives less protection than the targe. The sword makes you completely unable to collect ammo, so using it with the GL or SL will leave you completely vulnerable after a while. The boots replace the grenade launcher. With all three equipped, you have no way to deal with enemies if you get blasted/poofed away and are vulnerable to Heavies even more so than before. The charge is going to do more damage and be more accurate, but one rocket/reflect and it's cancelled. You're way more vulnerable to damage than if you had the targe, and if you ever tried to melee somebody under rocket/flame damage you'll know you die quickly. The booties are a nice tradeoff if you primarily use the sticky launcher, which is cool. The sword is a nice tradeoff if you don't use the shield, because demoman chews through ammo very quickly. The shield by itself is a risky tradeoff if you use a GL and any other melee weapon due to the less damage protection, but it might turn out useful to launch a nade and then just charge into somebody to finish them off. I dunno, it seems kinda balanced.
He is a goddamned Demoman for a reason, Valve! He is not a swordsman! Not a knight! I mean seriously. Now I really think he is a bad demoman.
So, is 1001 Demoknights Valve-made?
Valve has to have something in mind if the Demoman has no downsides to ANY of his items. Maybe the weapons are all useless unless they're all used together?
Jesus... thread's flying...
correction: Thread's CHARGING :v:
Valve has to have something in mind if the Demoman has no downsides to ANY of his items. Maybe the weapons are all useless unless they're all used together?
they are.
correction: Thread's CHARGING :v:
UBERcharging
They gave the Demoman a sword that fully replenishes his health on a kill, with random crits enabled, yet this is what kills medieval mode?
So, is 1001 Demoknights Valve-made?
Nope. Made by the same guy who created the Pyro's Cooking Hat.
My idea: Remove the Chargin' Targe, all the swords, all the shields, all the sword/board related items from the Demoman, and create a new class called The Knight or something similar, then give him all those items. Next, create new, proper, explosive items for the Demoman and return him to his roots.
