I get about the same as him with mat_showlowresimage on. I actually kind of like it, though it would be nice to be able to see through the spawn gates and not a have a massive wall of square flames that block just about everything. After messing around with a lot of commands I seem to have lost facial expressions, I haven't been able to get them back.
mp_usehwmvcds tends to cause that.
Whenever i try it says ''Unknown command'' :(

What the commands do
[lua]mat_picmip -10 - Increases texture details to maximum
mp_usehwmmodels 1 - Uses the higher quality of the skins (if they have one)
mp_usehwmvcds 1 - Uses the high-quality "animations"
cl_new_impact_effects 1 - Uses the built in Source Particle System for rendering bullet hits
cl_burninggibs 1 - Makes gibs of a player light on fire if he was on fire when he got gib'd
mat_motion_blur_forward_enabled 1 - Activates motion blur when moving forward
mat_motion_blur_strength 2 - The strength of the blur
mat_specular 1 - Activates specular highlights of the models
r_lod 0 - Removes "Level Of Detail" from models[/lua]

Mind you, though, keeping r_lod at default actually helps somewhat shittier computers when using mat_picmip -10.

cl_maxrenderable_dist 3000 is another good one, makes everything outside the map visible.

How does -10 affect the water so as to make it 'stunning'?
When I use mp_usehwmmodels 1 and mp_usehwmvcds 1 my computer explodes. :(

Water splash effects are sprites and normally really low res.

try 0 or -1
Ok nevermind, it looks like it's running even more stable than normal, but during heavy combat FPS goes down into the 20's , even with an 8800GT.
Using the HQ Models and picmip -10, the Scout's bat looks amazingly amazing.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I used these and one other just fooling around and didn't notice much of a difference. I had them in autoexec, got rid of them, and saved. But fps is still reading at a low 60 when I use to be around 200, how can I basically reset?

Did you accidentally enable the multi-core rendering option? I heard some people get FPS drops from that.
