need a autoexec of all these
Thanks killz, for this.
36 FPS?
I get about the same as him with mat_showlowresimage on. I actually kind of like it, though it would be nice to be able to see through the spawn gates and not a have a massive wall of square flames that block just about everything. After messing around with a lot of commands I seem to have lost facial expressions, I haven't been able to get them back.
mp_usehwmvcds tends to cause that.
Whenever i try it says ''Unknown command'' :(
For Maximum in-game Quality use this (put in autoexec.cfg) [lua]mat_picmip -10 mp_usehwmmodels 1 mp_usehwmvcds 1 cl_new_impact_effects 1 cl_burninggibs 1 mat_motion_blur_forward_enabled 1 mat_motion_blur_strength 2 mat_specular 1 r_lod 0 echo ***************************** echo * HIGH DETAIL CONFIG LOADED * echo ***************************** [/lua] What the commands do [lua]mat_picmip -10 - Increases texture details to maximum mp_usehwmmodels 1 - Uses the higher quality of the skins (if they have one) mp_usehwmvcds 1 - Uses the high-quality "animations" cl_new_impact_effects 1 - Uses the built in Source Particle System for rendering bullet hits cl_burninggibs 1 - Makes gibs of a player light on fire if he was on fire when he got gib'd mat_motion_blur_forward_enabled 1 - Activates motion blur when moving forward mat_motion_blur_strength 2 - The strength of the blur mat_specular 1 - Activates specular highlights of the models r_lod 0 - Removes "Level Of Detail" from models[/lua] Hope this helps
Way better!
I have to admit, I like the look of that Flamethrower.

Mind you, though, keeping r_lod at default actually helps somewhat shittier computers when using mat_picmip -10.

Eh, not much difference when I do it. :(

How wonderful. I always thought TF2 looked good, but now it's way better
cl_maxrenderable_dist 3000 is another good one, makes everything outside the map visible.
Thanks for that :)
Am I the only person who this doesn't work for? Or at least notices no difference.
How many graphic cards does it work on? :D
That High quality config posted a while back is wonderful. And mat_picmip -10 water effects are stunning.
How many graphic cards does it work on? :D
Well, works on my 9800 :U Yeah, glad for these settings, now I can squeeze a bit more out of my TF2. (Still got the german gibs though D:>)
That High quality config posted a while back is wonderful. And mat_picmip -10 water effects are stunning.
How does -10 affect the water so as to make it 'stunning'?
When I use mp_usehwmmodels 1 and mp_usehwmvcds 1 my computer explodes. :(
What is the normal quality command? -10 makes me lag like shit when i shoot water
How does -10 affect the water so as to make it 'stunning'?
Water splash effects are sprites and normally really low res. Edit:
What is the normal quality command? -10 makes me lag like shit when i shoot water
try 0 or -1
Ok nevermind, it looks like it's running even more stable than normal, but during heavy combat FPS goes down into the 20's , even with an 8800GT.
Using the HQ Models and picmip -10, the Scout's bat looks amazingly amazing. Yes, really. It almost looks real.
LOL I was playing Half-Life 2 Episode 2, and I used mat_picmap -9999999 And this happened! EVERYTHING LOOKS REAL
I shat bricks to that Hi Res DOG.
Wow, this makes L4D models look SEXY.
Does this work for L4D?
mat_picmip -10 mp_usehwmmodels 1 mp_usehwmvcds 1
Sorry to bring up an old thread but I used these and one other just fooling around and didn't notice much of a difference. I had them in autoexec, got rid of them, and saved. But fps is still reading at a low 60 when I use to be around 200, how can I basically reset?

I heard some people get FPS drops from that.
