One of the best pyro strategies that I've found myself is on the second stage of goldrush after the first checkpoint has been reached and you are defending.
The 2 buildings where the cart runs under the bridge, camp on the spawnside of those buildings if there are 1 or more sentries built there. If you have the standard flamethrower you will be the überchargers worse nightmare.
When they come running with their medic + [übered teammate here] you compressionblast atleast the medic slightly upwards (best done crouching) so when the sentry focuses the fire on him/them they will fly away and lose their chance of destroying the sentry.
This is a winning strategy for sure, just watch out for spies as you are vounerable unless there is a dispenser on both sides.

the only things that need changing in this game are the FaN and the sandman (even though it's not really that bad anymore since few use it so it's not a frequent problem)
Seriously people bitch so much about the classes, when it gets down to it, it really does depend upon skill
I know scouts that can kill any class in any situation (using the standard scattergun) and Snipers that can kick anything's ass
the only class that isn't like that is the engineer, but they have sentries and dispensers and they're not really an attacking class
offensive engies rock if done right though
