Getting there...

Now I only need to finish the back of it, (hopefully) add a jiggleboned power cord and then texture it properly. If I can get bothered with animated textures I will make the screen show the static the one in the team choosing menu has.

Looks Sweet, Man. Looking forward to it.
I know this might not be the best place to ask, but are there any tutorials for modeling hats in Blender? I know there's a whole modeling props in Blender video, but how do I do hats in Blender?
That TV is looking great.
That Casanova hair looks like it'll be awesome
Brown it is:

But what shade?
The bottom one for RED and the second one for BLU seems to fit both teams nicely. But if you choose the bottom one, maybe make the buckled strap sitting on top of the brim darker so it contrasts a little more with the rest of the hat. Lastly, that emblem STAYS. It took me a moment to see it was the equalizer, but it's something different from just the ones you see supplied with TF2.

Yeah, I originally didn't like it because I didn't recognize it was the Equalizer. Now it's cool.
Wow, I thought it was an early view of the model.
Great idea, dood, keep it up.
Nah, I just made some renders of each of the sides of the spy's head and used photoshop to block out the design. This makes modelling a lot easier as you already have the design down as a reference.
Edit: the equalizer logo is a great idea, however I would suggest simplifying it a bit and/or making it a bit bigger. Now it is so detailed you won't be able to make out what it is on most killcam shots, and those are the ingame moments you get to "admire" hats the most (not counting going out of your way to look at a teammate's headgear close up).
Everything on this thread is A++ WOULD DOWNLOAD AGAIN.

I guess that's the point.
Speaking of halos removing their hat, (from the last page). Can someone make a mod that makes the soldier, engineer, sniper, and scout keep their hat on when a halo is equipped, or even make a version of it without the halo, but their original headgear.
It would be much appreciated, bald engys and soldiers look so weird with their heads bare and a symbol of faggotry floating above them.

Also, It has also been pointed out to me that Daimao already did these. I was unaware when I made them.

They need to implement this Fedora and rename the current one the Trendy Trilby.
and actually, Royzo did it.
No, I'm quite certain it was Daimao.

Hey, so if I'm doing my thing in 3ds max and plan to export as a .smd, do i need to bother myself with smoothing groups if the smoothing is looking off?
edit: Well based on the smoothing page of the Valve Developer Wiki it appears I do. If I'm wrong please disagree the shit out of me so I can avoid it that much longer.
How about a giant helmet made from a Jarate Bottle for the sniper? Full. :3

Man, I am Clocks today.
How about:
An Open Pizza Box (Neck through the bottom.)
One of those Novelty Dinosaur Rider Things. (Looks like you're riding a dinosaur or a horse.)
A Makeshift Headset for either Scout or Engineer. (Soup Can + String, Etc.)
A Barrel over the Torso of the body.
Traffic Cone on Head
Isolation / Anti-Itch Doggy Cone on Head
Fighter Pilot Mask for Engineer.
Red Clown Nose and Party Hat (Spy?)
Cutout of Loch Ness Monster attached to head. (Demoman)
Any of those been done?
Still want that Sherlock Holmes hat for Spy.
Still want that Sherlock Holmes hat for Spy.
You mean a deerstalker?
I'll make it if you like, got any good reference images?
I wish people on Polycount would compile their hats for skins. :smith:

Thanks, Man. Awesome.
Is it socially acceptable to make more idea lists? Or is it considered rude and inconsiderate...?
I'll also do the traffic cone for the Soldier if it hasn't been done already.

If the ideas are good, we love 'em. If they're really personal/boring/hard to make we usually ignore them.
I like idea lists. Just don't do anything stupid, like "zomg I want to put a spy on the spy as a hat"
Also, I said good reference images. I had a look on that before it's hard to find a decent one.
I might end up modelling it by eye.
Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I'll get some more lists out tomorrow, i'm pretty tired. Once again, thanks for the encouragement.
I had an idea. I'd like to see a cape for pyro. But no ordinary cape. This one is COMPLETELY MADE OF FIRE (Even better if you can get it jiggleboned). I got the idea from that skin on FPSBanana that turns the pyro hats into fire. Seriously, wouldn't the pyro look bad ass with a cape of fire? Maybe NeoDement can offer some tips, since he seems to be proficient in the art of cape making?
I will give you Ten Invisible Hats for doing this.
