Looking good.
Thank you, now I can start UVW unwrapping.
What's the tricount?
can you make my soldiers face look like that ingame =D
What's the tricount?
Past 800, its very unoptimized. I'm going to optimize later and I don't have much time left today so I hope to get it under 800 by tomorrow.
I wish Valve would make the limit 1000.
Ok, is it vertices or faces?
New to the whole modeling ordeal here.
triangles, so ROUGHLY faces x 2
pyro ideas:
kenny's hood
mexican lucha mask
mask pulled up a little past his mouth with a jiggly sock stuffed in his mouth
"Hey guys, I have an idea, but can't be arsed to make it. How about you all do the hard work, and I take the credit, since I made the idea, after all."
Steal all the credit? Hell no. I'd Credit myself with the concept and idea of it, and you'd be credited with the making of the actual weapon's model, materials, and such. I'm not some cheap fag.
3ds Max only:
If you convert the object to an editable patch and back to an editable poly/mesh, it'll turn all the faces and ngons into the triangles that make them up. Not very good for workflow, but a good idea for finalizing a model.
triangles, so ROUGHLY faces x 2
Roughly 2,000. I need to optimize/learn to model more conservatively .

Alot of the ingame tf2 weapons were community ideas, they get no credit. Same here, telling somebody to do something doesnt count for shit if they actually do it.
whereas actually submitting ideas blindly is ok, seeing as you take no credit for it.
Right:
HEY GUYS IT WOULD BE COOL IF THE SPY HAD A GIANT HEARSE FOR A HAT
Wrong:
I had this idea, [link to separate thread] you should model texture and put ingame a giant hearse according to my plans. It must be big and on the spy's head. that's MY idea

Great now how do I count those.
Wait ok thank god. Selected all polygons and got 295.

Don't give him false hope, I'm pretty sure they mean tris.
Alot of the ingame tf2 weapons were community ideas, they get no credit.
Don't those people get a special "community" version of the thing they came up with?
Don't those people get a special "community" version of the thing they came up with?
not really.
well the hosts of a tf2 podcast came up with alot of stuff but they got community weapons for hosting the most popular tf2 podcast.
and I'm talking about before community weps

Well now I'm just confused :(

Yea, I'm quite (but not 100%) certain that when you export and/or compile any source model, it all gets triangle'd. So poly would be tri, also the polycount is the Model Viewer seems to be always higher than what I see when modelling the thing, so I think it'd be tris.
Oh damnit, I just thought polygons were fine. Well then my first hat is instead of ~800 polygons, ~3500 tris and the second one ~3300.
Gah.

Some one email Robin to me extra clear on this matter, because this can make a huge difference.
Who is storm silver anyway?
Guy with a okami avatar came in, stole a ton of skins off of FPSB (I think I got that right) and claimed he made them, when he was called out he called everyone a liar and said that he got the files mixed up. He was also claiming that he was a pro but didn't have anything because his brother deleted all his stuff or something like that. Facepunch forced a skin out of him and, surprise he just put black mesa in the middle of the dead ringer then went back to stealing shit. He was then kicked out for being a talentless hack.
Happy end
He made a bad DR reskin
Made improved by some other guy
He makes hype for a fake project
Keeps lying even though his facade was done
During the propaganda contest he stole Chemical Alia's Entry and pushed that as his work
tinyeye saves the day
he gets busted
doesn't show up
I had a simple idea for the Targe, make it look like the lid on a whiskey barrel. If it looks too undetailed, the name on the bottle weapon could be branded on the front of it.

And it still looks hot in game! Gotta love render to texture.
Now all that's left to do is fix seams and possibly add some blood on the wood/more on the metal (I might not do this)

I'm afraid I don't follow you on this one.
It was the hat Royzo made in the First Emporium.
But you can still install it if you really want
It was the hat Royzo made in the First Emporium.
I know that part, just, you can install it still, and you can find the actual helm in game so not sure why you miss it.
not really.

*Cough*The Great Equalizer*Cough*
But seriously, I don't see why it's so impolite to take credit for an idea that was yours. I know that the modeller/skinner/whatever does most of the work, so they should get main credit, but still really they should give themselves minor credit where it's due.
About the Soldier's hats:
All of the official Soldier hats cover his eyes. Only the unofficial ones, like the Beret and Halo, do not.
