I don't recommend the sword animations, btw. Nothing personal, it's just that it breaks the animations on both shovels (they don't unfold and are upside down) as well as the animation replaces all of the other weapons with the 2-handed animation. Which sometimes works, like for the new whip.

If all you use is the katana for the Soldier, than it's not a problem. It goes in models/weapons/c_items as far as I know. Why are people saying ambience? lol

The less space is empty, the bigger everything can be. The bigger everything is, the higher resolution everything is. Textures use up a lot of memory (especially when they start getting over 512x512) so UV optimization remains an important process.

I'm the same way, but the selection tool is your friend. Just use the polygonal one, click around what you want, and color away.

It improves texture quality, because it adds to the amount of detail you can fit in the texture. The empty spaces are unused, so those parts are being wasted.

And for some reason I can't right-click with my mouse to freeze Gmod ragdolls to draw over them... Grrr.

Yeah, yeah, I know- I already set it to "Click the Right Side for Right Click," but of course when you're holding down M1 to keep the ragdoll in place, you can't press M2 to freeze it.
