magnetism? a property?
that's like saying "this handgun fires slippery"
You know what an EMP does?

There's a GreaseMonkey script, for that.

Made some crappy LOD models for the towering pillar out of boredom, feel free to do all the hard work for me. I'm not touching the damn things after this.
I was curious if anybody would be interested in rigging that cape/gunboats combo so that it becomes a cape/mantreads combo. (And maybe something similar for the Ali Baba boots, like a magic carpet attached to the Demo Man's back!... maybe.)
You cant fire magnetism. You can fire various forms of radiation, or increase a metal objects magnetic attraction. And EMPs cannot be fired in one direction either.
This is TF2; fat russian men with guns too big for any man to carry, running around with frenchmen who can cloak at will, and engineers who have self building dispensers and sentry guns which come out of toolboxes. Not to mention healing beams.
It doesn't have to make any sense.
Magnetism isn't a property.
a force, my apologies.
either way, it still doesn't make sense.
"this weapon fires gavity"
You know what an EMP does?
uh... releases an electromagnetic pulse. irrelevant.

It's a video game. It's supposed to be fun.
Shooting magnetism sure sounds fun to me. And more realistic than a beam that heals your wounds within seconds.

they're not even well optimised

Exactly my point.

All of the things in tf2 are somewhat grounded in reality, and if they are not it is purely for gameplay.

Reposting for next page and I'll whip up a sort of diagram of my ideas if need be.

I was thinking of making a new soldier cape actually
I was thinking of making a new soldier cape actually
Ah, that'll be nice! I hope this one is more... army-like somehow (with fancy millitary pauldrons perhaps?) And the Demo Man could get an arabic one (like my previously mentioned magic carpet for a cape idea.)
All of the things in tf2 are somewhat grounded in reality, and if they are not it is purely for gameplay.
Exactly. Even if it is quite goofy, you have to maintain some consistency.
either way, the weapon itself still looks pretty cool.
and if they are not it is purely for gameplay.
Then the model is fine on these grounds.
Take the FJ for example, makes no sense whatsoever. But it works for gameplay, so does mine.
You could at least make it look aesthetically pleasing too because it just looks like a normal shotgun, with the FJ stock and a battery.
I think they're cool with it, Brandon said that kritzkrieg backpacks are good (that's what the quote was about) he also said community styles for valve hats "wont harm in submitting"
Okay.

They look completely different from first person, and the colour scheme differentiates it sufficiently elsewhere.
The stock has a far sharper shape than the FJ's too.

Nothing makes sense if you generalize like that.
Ow man this is war around here.

Oh and buy titles to support moderators and Facepunch!
Umm, no.
Nothing makes sense if you generalize like that.
It's true though.
how has this gone on for so long over one word used in a random sentence.
It's like arguing over a typo...
Ok. You are able to move mass through some kind of warp hole to teleport them to a different location, all in which has been created by a lone mercenary from Texas in 1960-1970.
TF2 IS NOT SUPPOSED TO MAKE COMPLETE SENSE, but that DOES NOT mean you have an excuse to make no sense whatsoever.
It still makes more sense than some of the weapons in the game, which is good enough.
Ow man this is war around here.
Need a sandbag model.
Nothing makes sense if you generalize like that.
Exactly, guns are still guns, if you are going to make it shoot 'magnetism' than what point is there to the shotgun part? Also if you plan on submitting it, it needs to be flexible enough to have more than just the stats you suggest.
