Now I do agree with you that the axtinguisher is a beast but as a matter of fact that most classes can kill pyro's suddenly and quickly (even faster than the pyro) and that it only applies in situations where the person is a retard who doesn't know how to run away from the pyro with the axtinguisher.

Running away is usually never an option when it comes to Pyro. With the ability to disable a player with a rather long-range airblast, disorient their aim. If the Pyro is charging someone who can definitely fuck up their day, they deserve to be mowed down. But if the Pyro catches the person off-guard, the battle is over before it begun when they whip out the Axtinguisher. Not to mention Source has the shittiest hit detection possible.

Although I agree with you on the fact that if a pyro decides to think it's a good idea to run dumbly into a miniguns fire then yes they should die, but many times I have found myself fucked even though I had the ambush upper hand, I don't neglect the airblast but either but if I used it then I wouldn't be able to cause damage, I'm fucked either way.
I can post some videos as me as other classes and completely eliminating a pyro one on one even though he had the upper hand.
Also is anyone else's right click really delayed? You can't explode it until it's really far away, even then it has a little delay.

Without the flare jumping, the Flare Gun is without doubt better.
Detonator can only mini-crit on a constructive hit. That's only 33% extra damage.
Flare Gun will CRIT on a constructive hit. That's a whooping 300% more damage. About 9 times as much.
I know what I'd choose at the current stage. Specially since the alt-fire of Detonator is completely fucked. Not only is it hard to to aim, but it's not responding to my commands half of the time, and even if I hit a group of people with the explosion, only one is set on fire.
EDIT: Why do you agree? I'm one of the dumb people saying Flare Gun is clearly better.

While I'm not one to denounce one's abilities, this game is really centered around random and luck/chance. IE: I crit-whipped like four people in a row before a Medic stabbed me. I would've died in any other situation.

Well, with such a big issue, it should be someone who can speak really formal English, and have done some research on why the Flare Jumping without doubt can't be considered OP. It's not enough just to go tell them that it's fine because Demoman and Soldier can do it... Specially since they love those classes. If you as much as dare to imply they are OP, they will rage-delete your mail.
All that excludes me from doing it. I'm better at sending them mails regarding more minor issues.

Neither was Engineer, but look at him now. It was pretty obvious he refer to ambushing. Something which half the classes currently do better than Pyro, even if the intends was for him to be a champion at doing so.

Hell, the Tomislav basically made the heavy take the pyro's position in ambushing class.
Honestly this makes me sad I'd prefer it if pyros did flarejump at me so I could just kill them with a rocket rather than having to deal with their airblasts.
As pyro being my most time played class (50 hours apart from 2nd highest), I say I rarely use my secondary weapons as for melee the far less. I just use them rather for emergencies.
As the detonator I rather use it for quick getaways or flank my enemies so I won't have to funnel in where I was compromised (pending on the map). :colbert:
Also if they really want it to be balance it I rather say they should make it inaccurate, either it's arcing as much as the demo's launcher or not even going perfectly straight. Also perhaps very small amount of time of it's ignition.
That's pretty dumb. Flare jumping was for the most part well received in the beta, if it was unintended and overpowered why the hell did they wait until they patched it into the main game to fix it?
With the nerf to Pyros against Demoknights I get the feeling Valve is out of touch with how powerful the Pyro class actually is, it's as if they're still convinced afterburn is devastating.

How do you know exactly what pyros are meant to do? I don't see you on TF2's development team.
It was overpowered and unintended, as said by Greg Chirlin himself in the OP.
