They'll probably release it sometime in the afternoon rather the morning.
oh god i'm at school and don't get out until 3AM which is 6PM in valve time hnnnggggggg
3am? Jesus christ dude
I've been watching all the other shorts to get my memory jogging. Why has it been two years since they made a remake of Meet the Heavy and no one told me? I just watched that last night.

Would anyone be angry if it turned out to be meet the pyro instead and the whole medic thing was just a red herring? I wouldn't, i'd like that actually. I love it when Valve does stuff like that.
What? They never remade Meet the Heavy.
http://www.ea.com/the-orange-box/videos/e130432ec8cff110VgnVCM100000ab65140aRCRD ...Aaand someone didn't watch it. It's been redone, that's the updated heavy model (With the old patch). A higher frame rate, clearer, the newer light wraps and better animations. They still kept the muzzle flash. It is a different video, it is newer than the original.

Plus, why the fuck are you watching on EA's shitty site? The quality is SO bad. Here:

The lighting is less dramatic, the frame-rate hasn't been lowered to highlight SFM's motion blur, the animations don't look particularly better, and I don't see the difference in the Heavy's model. In any case, it looks worse to me than the other, mainly because of the lighting. EDIT: yeah, the animation in the normal version is better, particularly the Heavy's mouth.
Look at the Heavy's ears. Compare the YouTube version to the EA.com version. Edit: Look at the eyes and skin tone. Edit: Gif style, how I like it.
The animation looks a lot smoother to me.
That's framerate, though, not the animations themselves. EDIT: Now that you've pointed out the Heavy's ears, you're right, the EA version is a newer model. Still prefer the original, though.
The hospital in the medic's page is much different to the Original, it seems to be a map so there's a high chance it will take place there...
It could be the same building from another point of view
Oh alright, you're not wrong. Bottom is EA.
comparison ahoy [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] also I don't think it's better animation, looks like it's at 30fps instead of 24 is all
EA's looks much better. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] It's always bugged me that the heavy looks like he just got a tan in the youtube one. The EA one looks a lot more like the actual heavy.
It's quite obvious the EA one was rendered with a newer version of SFM that supports self-shading
And the higher framerates on EA's site are so nice. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] Oops, automerge broken.
I agree, too bad they fucked up the sound with the low quality. While they were at it, they should also fix his class icon and the miniguns firing effect.
I agree, too bad they fucked up the sound with the low quality. While they were at it, they should also fix his class icon and the miniguns firing effect.
Click HQ. It increases the sound (and video) quality a ton.
Click HQ. It increases the sound (and video) quality a ton.
Still not quite as HQ as the real version, but that's not something hard to fix, so it's still a nice improvement.
Still not quite as HQ as the real version, but that's not something hard to fix, so it's still a nice improvement.
I like their high framerate, but they might like to reupload the video. With better quality.
Did anybody notice this? Sorry if it's late.
Did anybody notice this? Sorry if it's late.
OH SHIT MEET THE PYRO ARG. /caps
