It was great, but this broke the pattern of the videos building up in complexity. It was almost disappointing compared to Meet the Spy, which had characterizations, comic timing, a serious storyline, and mind-blowing fight choreography. Meet the Medic was more of a short, snippy, flashy window into the TF2 universe. The comedy is more slapstick-oriented and doesn't seem as subtle or clever as the earlier releases. This is possibly because Valve wanted Meet the Medic to appeal to a wider audience, specifically the casual crowd that might be drawn in by the free-to-play announcements. While the shorts have all been made with the purpose of introducing the characters, there's no reason they can't also be standalone short films with well-known and characterized actors. Meet the Sniper and Meet the Spy did this perfectly. There have been plenty of user-made machinimas and and animated shorts that greatly surpass Meet the Medic, and I was really hoping for a larger-scale animated short film starring the Medic. But Meet the Pyro still remains and it's likely that Valve will end the series of videos with a bigger production. They have a dangerous card they can play, though: the pyro's identity, which is neither relevant nor interesting to fans anymore. I would give Meet the Medic a 10/10, but after the bar was raised by Meet the Spy, I think it instead deserves 10/11.
No, that's Archimedes.
No, it's some other dove. If it was Archimedes, he'd have blood on him.
It was disappointing.
Wow. http://www.portal2sounds.com/1188 :golfclap: [editline]1[/editline] I wonder if Meet The Pyro will be any better... [editline]1[/editline] I wonder if there'll be any Meet The Pyro at all...
Holy shit Meet the Medic was beautiful.
Meh, I expected darker.
The darkest thing was either the rib or the exploding heart, but I expected something like a huge saw.
did like the whole casual approach of the gore and such and also the spy head in the fridge
I loved how the pyro was trying to burn the magazine in the waiting room.
For the first 10 seconds, I thought it was going to be more serious than Meet the Spy.
Medic's face in the end, I cannot decide whether he wants to rape someone or do some MEDICINE.
The waiting room scene had SO MANY easter eggs and idiosyncrasies. Like the soldier standing at attention in stead of sitting, the sniper with a jarate since he's been waiting a long time, pyro playing with the lighter.
Is the music from the video anywhere?
Is the music from the video anywhere?
It'll probably get patched as menu music soon or get released
I hope so. The ending brass part (starts when he heals the Demo) was fucking amazing.
I like how the medic and heavy get along so well, I've always seen them as buddys.

I think Meet the Spy was better in every way, but Meet the Medic was still pretty good. And I also really still enjoy Meet the Sniper and Meet the Demoman. If I had to rank the 4 I'd say Spy, Sniper, Demoman, and then Medic. Meet the Spy was just done so brilliantly it deserves the top spot, where as I enjoy the characters, the quality, and the interview format of the Demo and Sniper. But to each his own of course.
I hope Valve puts the hi-res Meet The Medic up on Steam soon, I've got wallpapers to make.
Wait, I don't get it. If the medigun was able to heal up Heavy's body perfectly... ...Then why didn't it heal the Demoman's missing eye?
I bet his eyeball grew back, but the Demo just never noticed.
Still, I can't help but be curious as to what magazine the pyro is about to burn. [sp]the scout?[/sp]
I thought it was a comic book at first but there it looks like a lumberjack
Wait, I don't get it. If the medigun was able to heal up Heavy's body perfectly... ...Then why didn't it heal the Demoman's missing eye?
Eyes don't grow back, just like ribs.
Maybe it has to do with something like the demo losing his eye too early, or being born without it or something; I don't remember if we got an explanations as to how he lost it. Anyway you can asspull pretty much any explanation to this.

I love how there's 5 locked threads yelling about meet the medic's release.
So guys. Final verdict: Winner Medals for "Worth the wait, best TF2 video" Agree for "Worth the wait, but not the best TF2 video" Disagree for "Not really worth the wait" Dumb Box for "Worst TF2 Video" Gogogo EDIT: I vote winner. Stupid no self-rates. :<
Oh God.
I like how the video starts out with everybody cornered, nowhere else to run, with an apocalyptic scenery. And then the medic shows up providing a huge push towards victory! Totally overwhelming experience.
Oh God.
No... NOT AGAIN!
Pretty nice! Also I find it weird for the video to have 301 views and 17,468 likes, 118 dislikes + over 8,5k commentaries.
I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this yet, but why didn't the medic's medigun fix the demoman's eye if it cured his paralysis and grew the scout's tooth back?
Eyes don't grow back, just like ribs.
I'm pretty sure they can since Medic is able to make the Scout grow back his missing tooth. The only way it can be explained I think is that the medigun was not powerful enough to grow back an eye and a rib
