the reason they listen to spuf is because that's where valve games were meant to be talked about, thay may not even know about facepunch.
They most likely do. They visit the SA tf2 thread. Granted, SA is a little bit more popular, but FP mostly based on source engine games.
Nobody. Gives. A. Fuck. About. Pub. Players.
Yeah, nobody cares about 98% percent of a game's player base!
Nobody. Gives. A. Fuck. About. Pub. Players.
You. Don't. Give. A. Fuck. About. Any. Players.
Nobody. Gives. A. Fuck. About. Pub. Players.
Hello competitive player.
Nobody. Gives. A. Fuck. About. Pub. Players.
you registered for just saying it? wow, and then compfags said that they not elitist
I thought TF2 was meant to be a casual game. Why are they listening to only the comp players now?
I thought TF2 was meant to be a casual game. Why are they listening to only the comp players now?
Ugh, they don't only listen to comp players. Nearly all of the feedback was from pub players, so they intentionally set up the TF2 beta to get feedback from comp players. Valve would never make changes suiting comp games which affect pub games negatively. Keep in mind that the gunboats nerf and sandvich nerf are wrongly attributed to the competitive scene too, these changes were purely Valve's idea. Anyway, I'm really sick of this comp-hate pub-hate argument.
you registered for just saying it? wow, and then compfags said that they not elitist
Yes 1 guy = all of the community. Nice job using a bigoted term too, that shows real maturity and definitely makes you seem like the better person (sarcasm if you can't tell). :) e: Def. like how you ignore that he was replying to a public player being equally elitist as well.
Keep in mind that the gunboats nerf and sandvich nerf are wrongly attributed to the competitive scene too, these changes were purely Valve's idea.
It wasn't even a Sandvich nerf, they buffed it, it's the exact same as it was before except now instead of having to go to resupply/pick up a health thing you can either wait 30s or go to resupply/pick up a health thing (the notes were wrong). e #2:
Ugh, they don't only listen to comp players. Comp. players don't whine to Valve because they are a tight knit community that have the power to just ban or limit something if they don't like it the effect it has on the format, they have absolutely no need to have Valve nerf or do anything for them unless if it's something they can't do themselves without modding the game, like adding the Shotgun fixed spread cvar. The ppl you see on the SPUF complaining or whining all the time are generally not competitive players, as the few ppl from the comp. format who go on there generally help people or discuss mechanics of the classes with ppl like DL does. As a whole competitive players tend to post on sites like communityfortress or gotfrag as the SPUF are terrible.

Now it puts you on the cooldown. If the cooldown applied for throwing it ONLY, it would be a buff. But that isn't the case.
I play comp. TF2 but I don't like comp. changes to corrupt public play style :(
No. Previously, you could eat indefinitely. Now it puts you on the cooldown. If the cooldown applied for throwing it ONLY, it would be a buff. But that isn't the case.
The thing is there is no situation where eating indefinitely is a benefit to your team if you're trying to complete the objective at hand. You can get your Sandviches much more often which makes throwing them more viable (increasing the Heavies team support), and makes you have to think more about where you eat them (bad time/place = you're dead) to add skill to the LMB function, making the item more thinking intensive. That was the only thing taken away, which is relatively minor considering you can just throw a Sandvich, pick up a health kit (or wait 30s), and bam you have another one, whereas before you'd either have to be full HP or get a Medic to heal you and pick up a health kit or run all the way back. It's in a lot better spot now. As far as sandvich parties for fun go, there's already a Sourcemod plugin that admins can toogle on that fixes the Sandvich to allow them to happen. :]
I play comp. TF2 but I don't like comp. changes to corrupt public play style :(
Pretty much goes for everyone in the community. :p It'd be really hard to make a change that negatively affects pubs but benefited competitive in the first place tho. :p
FUCK. I hoped the Natascha wouldn't be further nerfed, it was perfectly fucking fine, Jesus.
It's not fine. It's pretty OP. If you're a scout and you get hit at all, you're pretty much doomed. Scout vs. Heavy used to be pretty balanced, but now all the heavy has to do is have Natascha and he's pretty much invincible to scouts.
Nice job using a bigoted term too, that shows real maturity and definitely makes you seem like the better person (sarcasm if you can't tell). :)
Yo if you want to be taken seriously, stop acting like "compfag" is a bigoted term.
It's not fine. It's pretty OP. If you're a scout and you get hit at all, you're pretty much doomed. Scout vs. Heavy used to be pretty balanced, but now all the heavy has to do is have Natascha and he's pretty much invincible to scouts.
If you're any class you're pretty much screwed unless you're a Sasha Heavy, assuming equal skill. It makes many many many many matchups screwed up. That said, all it needs is to make the slow work based on damage, so people hit at long ranges don't get slowed at all pretty much, and people hit at medium ranges do get slowed but not as much. This would reinforce that the Heavy is a close range based assaulter, not a long range support class. Scouts would still have trouble, but would be able to be a little bit more flexible at medium range and potentially get away if things go bad, other classes would have a fairer chance, and you'd have a reason to run Sasha again since right now there pretty much isn't one (since as a Nat heavy part of using it right is avoiding Sasha heavies in fair fights and teamworking on them anyways).
Yo if you want to be taken seriously, stop acting like "compfag" is a bigoted term.
Yo, fag is a bigoted term.
Yo, fag is a bigoted term.
When used against homosexuals, yes. Right now you come out as a condescending dick when you're acting all "You're showing real maturity here".
Whats with all the hate towards competitive? Valve are trying to make the classes balanced for competitive AND regular play. Classes that get buffs to raise their skill ceiling helps them become more viable for comp play. But its not making them OP for regular play. Yes, some would agree that natascha is a little OP but he just said thats getting tweaked anyway..
When used against homosexuals, yes. Right now you come out as a condescending dick when you're acting all "You're showing real maturity here".
actually, he's right. If i started posting about pubniggers and then expected you to assume it's just a term for a game and isn't offensive because the term "pub" is in front of it and i'm not talking about black people, i'd have to be pretty darn insane. I like how when someone shows you just how elitist a statment "Nobody. Gives. A. Fuck. About. Comp. Players." is by switching one word, a bunch of you freak out on him for it.
FUCK. I hoped the Natascha wouldn't be further nerfed, it was perfectly fucking fine, Jesus.
According to who? You? When did you become the authority on game balance? Plenty of people (comp and pub alike!) dislike that weapon as it is.
It's not offensive it's a dumb made up word. So is compfag.
Mjeh, almost all words ending with "fag" or "fags" unless used as an offensive slur is speak derived from 4chan. At least that's how I always saw it. 4chan started with "oldfag" and "newfag" and "samefag", and continued on with "britfag", "swedefag", "amerifag", etc, then other boards like /v/ continued on with "casualfag", "clanfag" and all that... It wouldn't surprise me if the people who came up with words such as "pubfag" and "compfag" were people not too unfamiliar with 4chan.
Heavy and Pyro need to be changed, as a scout you have to learn to aim and dodge. As a sniper you have to be quick and react fast. As a medic you have to rely on others to protect your or learn to aim with the needle guns trajectory. As a demoman you have to learn to lob grenades and set up traps at ambush points. As a spy, you have to not get seen and be able to take down enemies undercover. As a engineer you have to deal with the boredom of being defensive or use the less efficient wraggler which eats up ammo as a bitch. As a soldier, well most soldiers are noobs and rely on splash damage to kill. As a heavy and pyro, its two simple buttons and you can mow down almost any class.

The heavy is supposed to be difficult to kill, exactly why it's called A HEAVY
Enter, learn it. The heavy is supposed to be difficult to kill, exactly why it's called A HEAVY
No, the heavy should be as easy/hard to kill as any other class. [editline]12:26AM[/editline] And it is, as of currently.
X is OP Y is UP Z is completely fine :downs:
Enter, learn it. The heavy is supposed to be difficult to kill, exactly why it's called A HEAVY
Heavy Weapons Guy. He uses Heavy Weapons. He's supposed to rape anyone in close range, which he does.
This didnt need a bump
You must have 1, no, atleast 2 medics at all times then
Why would a medic do that? He's not a heavy, his name is not fucking chozo, so don't fucking heal him.
why would a medic do that? He's not a heavy, his name is not fucking chozo, so don't fucking heal him.
fuck yeah i got rapebanner
Why the hell does robin even listen to the competetive fagholes, there are more "normal" players than competetive. Isn't the buffs and nerfs to please the biggest part of the community instead of a minority?
because casuals request the dumbest buffs and nerfs. forum has too much competitive hate
