Sounds interesting.
WELL AT LEAST NEW THlNGS WONT SUCK AS HORRIBLY [editline]01:17AM[/editline] today is capital day. I will be talking like that instead of using exclamation points
A quicker way for SPUF to get shit nerfed
A quicker way for SPUF to get shit nerfed
For reasons similar to this, I just hope that Valve will be more cautious when considering who to listen to regarding changes to existing weapons.
To me it sounds like the changes they are hoping to implement would be better as mutations like in L4D2.
They more than likely won't be so much listening to the players, as they will be collecting feedback data from the game itself. How many players use X weapon under Y setting, how many times X class dies with Y changes, as well as a multitude of other variables. I'm sure they'll look at player feedback, but it seems like they want data feedback more than word feedback.
I once found a competitive player that says that the Spy only counters the Engineer's buildings, and that if you get backstabbed you are a bad player.
Oh... him. "In a Highlander situation with only good players spy is useless." "In a Highlander situation with only good players Natascha is OP." "In a Highlander situation with only good players Wrangler is OP." "In a Highlander situation with only good players Snipers kill everything." "In a Highlander situation with only good players Demospam is unbeatable" "Crits Take the skill outta the game!" So we replied "TF2 was made to be played with roughly 12 players on each team. with no class limits or restrictions thereof. You play the game as it comes, if you keep dying you need to do something else and not whin about how you can't kill everything with your favowite widdle cwasss! To which he responds "But in a hihglander situation...." Ect... Now this isn't just a general moan at comp players but when they barge into a pub server and whine incessantly about all the things present in pub play that is not in comp play it GRINDS MY FUCKING GEARS! WE WON'T CHANGE OUR FAVOURITE SERVER JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FUCKING GET ALONG WITH HOW THE REST OF US LIKE TO PLAY! That being said we need as many people for here to sign up as possible otherwise the SPUF will get there way and we will end up with modern fortress 2.
Lets hope it makes things change for the beta-r :downsrim: and lets also hope we dont get whiney competives whining.
I have 26 boxes, a new record. *cough* Anywho, we'll probably not be testing stuff like new maps or weapon MODELS, just new weapon stats.
Lets hope it makes things change for the beta-r :downsrim: and lets also hope we dont get whiney competives whining.
Let's also hope I won't get completely raped when I accidently join a competitive server. :ohdear:
wow. how predictable. Anything to do with testing, weapons, and game balance, you guys start shitting on the comp players. Nice job fp.
wow. how predictable. Anything to do with testing, weapons, and game balance, you guys start shitting on the comp players. Nice job fp.
Not saying shitting on comp players is acceptable, but the comp players probably did the same with the pubbers.
I support this Beta no matter what direction it goes. In the end, what gets put into the full game would've been Valve's decision, not anybody else.
This beta could be to test the polycount weapons special powers before adding them to the game :(
This beta seems kinda interesting to me, hopefully Shugo Takahashi will be done with his Übercharge texture fix and the Jarate stuff for HWM will be accepted too. Wonder if Valve will release the Source Filmmaker early..... It seems some of the fixes on FPSBanana (The updated uniform locker for example) might be included too
I thought TF2 came out 3 years ago. Silly me.
I thought TF2 came out 3 years ago. Silly me.
Good job!
Let's also hope I won't get completely raped when I accidently join a competitive server. :ohdear:
This beta doesn't have anything to do with competitive play and there will not be any "competitive" servers [editline]12:48AM[/editline]
Nobody said ALL competitive players are bigoted idiots. Just MOST of the ones that some of us, myself included, encounter. I have a hard time finding a competitive player who isn't full of himself, whines about how the game is unbalanced, or whines about how "pubbers" are dumb/not playing the game 'correctly'. YOU may not know any bigots in the competitive community, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.
You haven't met any "competitive player", you have met the generic 12 year old in a clan. Chances are you will never meet the real competitive players who are in the higher divisions in leagues, and if you do you will realise they are much nicer than your general pubbie player. [editline]12:50AM[/editline]
Now this isn't just a general moan at comp players but when they barge into a pub server and whine incessantly about all the things present in pub play that is not in comp play it GRINDS MY FUCKING GEARS!
Neither have you FP has to realise that your generic 12 year old in a clan in your favorite pubbie server isn't a "competitive player" and nobody valve would ever listen to
Generalizations hurt everyone.

OP should rather get a pile of optimistic rainbows instead of informatives.
Generalizations hurt everyone.
Nobody in the world thinks that.
They didn't say it was open, however.
If that interview didn't say it was an open beta, and that interview's the only source, wouldn't the wiki be incorrect then for having un-cited info?
this is going to be pretty cool. i just hope valve listens to the people who play this for fun, and not because they're 'soopah leet omgee tourney players'. tourney players are just. just mean.
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Valve isn't retarded, guys.
well duh also yes this is completely right because most of you probably didn't understand why they kept shipping steamworks update every tuesday and thursday ALWAYS
Nobody in the world thinks that.
The people rating this disagree are idiots.
Valve need to stop listening to competitive idiots and pay attention to normal players (of which there are far more) Hopefully they will start doing this in the open beta
If they listened to them crit a cola and buff banner would've been nerfed sometime last year they only listen to comp players when spuf is whining about it too [editline]02:04PM[/editline]
It will probably be its own game much like CSS beta.
I hope they'll think of something else 16 GB is too much for both betas and the real game I'd have to be constantly switching back and forth with downloads
I hope they'll think of something else 16 GB is too much for both betas and the real game I'd have to be constantly switching back and forth with downloads
They'll almost definitely be using the same system as the closed beta. Why make a new system if they have working one already?
