So yes, you may very well have found a hat that displayed its level, but it won't anymore in the backpack. And possibly elsewhere, again I don't pay attention.

Only my most recent items are "" since last night, including crafted items. Something on the crafting/item server broke and I think it started when something was changed last night/yesterday. They could have been screwing with the item system for some reason (trading?) or they're still trying to fix the steam stats bug. addendum: it's sort of like when you forget to close brackets or a quotation mark in the code.

I don't recall hats ever having levels except for on backpack viewers. I recall always having to check to see my hats' levels.
