I'd like my fucking money back, or ATLEAST a free game, like TFC or Half life 2.
You are a greedy motherfucker. You got what you paid for. If you TRULY want a refund, don't whine about it and submit a ticket to support like the rest of the people who are too overly sensitive to this kind of shit.
At least give me some store credit or something.
No. You paid for the game. Quit bitching.
Unfortunately, checking the sets, they want you to purchase items now.
For fuck's sake, the Spy set requires the Misc and the hat. Are you kidding me.
It says crafted, so you don't have to purchase them. You can craft them and they are probably given via drops as well.
(Not my pic btw)
I would even understand anger if you bought the game a few months ago and this happens

The thing is that people who have paid those 4 years ago who all contributed even in the slightest to make TF2 what it is today don't even get premium accounts. The fact of the matter is that people paid money at some point for this game. Whether or not we played it for four years really doesn't count right now. What about other people who bought it yesterday? Or even at all this week because they wanted to be there before the update?
A perfect example is the guy on the last page that bought the game last week. He has every reason to be angry, but if you've put many hours into this game and enjoyed it, there is no reason to be complaining about this.
What about the people that bought GTA 1 when it launched and Rockstar released it for free a few years ago? The difference is in the time-frame but not in the principal. Someone who purchased the game got shafted because they could have waited and gotten it free years later.
If you bought this game in March I can understand the frustration, but dammit if you bought it in March and sank 200 hours into there is no argument. You paid $20 to enjoy this game earlier than other people.
I've never seen so many boxes in a thread with 10 pages.
It's called people who hate others for having something called "an opinion".
No. You paid for the game. Quit bitching.
Yeah and now it doesn't cost a dime to play, unlike before.
Yeah and now it doesn't cost a dime to play, unlike before.
Exactly, before.
Time has value too.
This actually pisses me off immensely.
Just when I thought this game might be good it's now going to be full of fucktards.
Great.
I'd like my fucking money back, or ATLEAST a free game, like TFC or Half life 2.
When did you buy this game, for how much, and how many hours have you played.
If you're like the guy that bought it 2 weeks ago and only have a few hours in game I can understand. If you bought this game 6 months ago and have 30 or 40 hours you're just being greedy.
Yeah and now it doesn't cost a dime to play, unlike before.
I see you bought portal 2. how are you going to feel when its price goes down? are you going to demand valve to give you back your money?
The thing with GTA 1 is miles different. It was released for free like way after the texh had evolved and the game was long replaced by sequels and better games. TF2 is still relatively new and is in no way outdated in terms of community. GTA was released for free because it became a lot less relevant at the time, TF2 is still a very large component of PC gaming.
I want to be able to filter free-to-play players from our servers.
I am an admin on all the Multiplay servers on TF2 and this update has stressed us out, we have no way to stop persistent hackers causing trouble because they will just come back with a new account.
lol they derped on their FAQ
Q. Won’t going Free to Play mean more griefers and cheaters?
If a new player on a Free account upgrades to a premium account and indicates that you were their most helpful friend, you will receive a wearable item. Helping new users via the Coaching feature is a great way to meet new players and help them out!
Q. How does the Coaching feature work?
We’re increasing our focus on making sure that hostile players can’t ruin your fun. Specifically, we’ll be keeping a close eye on players exploiting the ability to make infinite free accounts to bypass bans. We’ve built systems that’ll allow us to measure and track what these players are doing, and respond quickly.

It's called people who hate others for having something called "an opinion".
It's not that we hate you for having an opinion. We hate how you whine and complain over wanting a refund, a hat (which you already have), keys, blah blah blah as compensation for buying the game before the update. You are entitled to your opinion just like everyone else, but if you are going to act elitist about the situation you can forget it.
When did you buy this game, for how much, and how many hours have you played.

Shit.
Nevermind, I'll stop bitching.
Thanks.
Yeah and now it doesn't cost a dime to play, unlike before.
You paid for a game nobody knew would become free, that has had 219 updates since launch, and is made by one of the best video game developers out there.
And you want a refund.
They made portal free, nobody seemed to care.
Why is TF2 so much different?
To be honest, I was a little rickety at first with the Free2Play movement, but then it occurred to me "Wait, we're talking about Valve here. Anyway you spin it, Valve is a great company. They keep in touch with their fans, they always do more to help the community, they give the community a chance to be a part of creating their games, or part of their games, and they always at the very least, look at our requests.
And if you look and compare the amount of griefers on say Garry's mod, and on TF2, I'm sure the numbers will reiterate what I'm trying to say. And plus, if you guys think about it, there is no WAY Valve would allow one of its biggest money makers get brought down by griefers and hackers.
So, in any event, I hope all you poor bastards out there, can finally experience what we have been experiencing for more then 4 years.
They said they built systems that allow them to do so, so maybe it's been implemented into VAC.
The same VAC thats supposedly doing a good job of keeping cheaters out of the games (rofl) is gonna somehow manage to track what every person is doing and detect them making accounts through proxies, vpns, and HWID spoofing? LOL. The game will be flooded with hackers who make new, free accounts, with zero consequences to face if by some chance VAC actually manages to detect them cheating. This game will be the next diablo 2.
I see you bought portal 2. how are you going to feel when its price goes down? are you going to demand valve to give you back your money?
If they were to release Portal 2 for free, I'd be mad. The point is that they made me pay for something that they would eventually make free anyways.
Yeah and now it doesn't cost a dime to play, unlike before.
SO WHAT.
You got to play the game for nearly FOUR YEARS and experience all the changes, events, updates, etc that Valve did with us that NO ONE who is going to be using a F2P account will ever have a chance to experience.
You want to talk about getting really fucked? Try paying $50 for a fucking MMO that dies off in 2 months only to have it be bought by another company a year later and made F2P without any compensation to those who bought it before other than receiving your original character and your creations back. (Looking at YOU APB.)
I see you bought portal 2. how are you going to feel when its price goes down? are you going to demand valve to give you back your money?
Can you please shut the fuck up? Jeez, of course a game is going to go down in price, BUT, it's not going to go down to being free. You've been using the same argument for the last couple of pages, and it's invalid because it doesn't apply on how a game is becoming FREE and how a game goes down in price.
Every game goes down in price. Every. Fucking. Game.
Fuck I jnust bought this last week fr my nephew
If they were to release Portal 2 for free, I'd be mad. The point is that they made me pay for something that they would eventually make free anyways.
but would you feel mad if they made you pay $50 for a game that would eventually be $30? it's essentially the same thing as making you pay $20 for a game that would eventually be free
They made portal free, nobody seemed to care.
Why is TF2 so much different?
They made a 3 hour game free for a week or two.
They made an incredible game that millions of people payed for free.
but would you feel mad if they made you pay $50 for a game that would eventually be $30? it's essentially the same thing as making you pay $20 for a game that would eventually be free
No, it's not.

I'm not crafting half my hats with a spy token just for the off chance that I will find the thing I need. Or let it go to the bloody drop system.
SO WHAT.

Oh no, they won't experience UPDATES. The poor souls. That totally justifies releasing a game for free and not giving a shit about the people who paid for it.
They made a 3 hour game free for a week or two.

You're saying Portal isn't incredible?

No it's not. There's a big difference between paying something for a game, and free.
