TF2 is now free-to-play - Games

He said the next update is going to be the "Growing up" update and everyone will be forced to download it when it rolls out later this week!

Good more players. Not like the servers are going anywhere... I dont understand people's crazied theories about the downfall of anything

Crafting recipes are insane. You pretty much have to [b]BUY[/b] your weapons. No new weapon taunts. You'll have to [b]BUY[/b] those now. Whats next? Paying for maps too? Paying to be able to use your models and skins? Where will it end? Hell, how much you wanna bet we'll have to [B]BUY[/b] extra security for our servers when people start trolling? Wanna hardware ban someone from your server so they cant pull their griefing shit anymore? You sure can! For only 7.99! Allows you to Hardware ban up to 3 people on your own server!

You should probably look at your own posts in the Duke Nukem Forever threads. You bashed everyone who liked the game to the point they put you on their ignore list. Just sayin'. The update is great, F2P brings more players in and there's loads of stuff to do. I'm fine.

I got no problem with new peoples. I likes new peoples But I'm sick of Valve trying to nickle and dime me after I already spent about 500 dollars on their crap.

I can't wait to get back home so I can play with my friends.

Store, but I really doubt they would do that JUST for that. Although the 20 bucks people spend on hats is more than the 10 bucks the game costed, so it would make sense. otherwise I was quite disappointed with this update. I don't exactly love the F2P thing, but I really don't like it. SOLDIER got a ton of new weapons (pretty shitty weapons) in a MEDIC update. One new map, it isn't even that great. No new mode, it was never confirmed but I would expect something of the like in such a big update.

YEah I'll go on record as saying this is the worst update valve has ever done. This is worse than the whole Cheater's Lament fiasco.

So far, the only positive I see from the past month of TF2 is new medic gimmicks (better than 'buff damage nerf clip' shit), and the fact that I can get my friends to play without telling them to spend $20 on a game that they'll likely only play once. If not for the whole aspect of people I actually like playing, I'd have uninstalled it long before

I like it how you guys assume valve isn't making a net profit from doing this, or at least expecting one. The logic is that the only thing bringing in money anymore is the store, and opening up that market to people who haven't bought the game yet is a pretty reasonable source of profit

And, to be honest, yes for about a year about 2 years ago, TF2 was LITERALLY my life. Pretty much all I did was play it. (What can you, stuck in a shitty town with no job no friends or family). I didnt acquire 2500+ hours in the game by NOT playing it.
