TF2 is now free-to-play - Games

Again, I dont care about F2P. Let more people come and play. What really grinds my goat is that Valve thinks they can spring this shit on us likes its something new and creative. Yes Meet the Medic was awesome. Was it 2 years awesome? Hell-to-the-No. The item's crafting recipes are RIDICULOUSLY over priced. I had been saving up scrap for 3 weeks and I was able to craft TWO items. Valve is trying to nickle and dime the people who have already bought the game. And I dont appreciate it.

I dunno, I'm not terribly upset by this. Yeah I paid 20 bucks for the game back in the day, but I've had a hell of a fun time playing TF2. So, to see new folks get to play, such as a few of my friends, and enjoy like I did is good. I don't feel that I'm entitled to anything because I paid (hope that its a good hat though dammit), but I do think its a bit too easy to become a premium user. I think you should have to buy atleast more than a few items to get upgraded. I mean, you basically have to fork over 5 dollars to get something, but still. I hope that Valve does stick close to keeping an eye on hacking attempts, but we'll see about that. Alot of the folks I run with in TF2 are pretty cool, but its kinda bad to look at how this update has brought out the worst in the community. Chill guys, things'll work out.

If you payed $20 and are complaining for that reason, then go fuck yourself because it hasn't been $20 for months and if you bought it back then you've already gotten your money's worth. If you payed $10 and are complaining, then congrats, you're shitting yourself over 5 extra dollars for a premium account over the free version, and you've got a nice free hat for what it's worth. If you're complaining because of noobs, hackers and griefers, just know that TF2 has been full of these since its release and they're on all of the wrong servers. Favorite a few good servers and you're set, that's how it's always been.

Well, I always joked that I'd never play TF2 again after the Mannconomy update. I guess that joke became a reality.

And you get a hat. But even so, yeah, Valve'll probably refund you and downgrade you to a free account if that's what you're into.

Hey everyone. It's not like this will result in more money for Valve because that everyone who has wanted TF2 up till today has bought it. Now, with this free version, more people will buy the game. When there's more people, there's always people with disposable income. They will buy items. Those items will result in money for Valve. More money is more updates. quit whining everyone, please. jesus fuck.
