you bought tf2 3-4 years ago. Should valve also take away 500+ hours of fun?
Only played about 150 hours before the Scout update, and the game's been steadily downhill* since then. *Sans the war update.
Look at all the fucks I dont give.
Then stop trying to be a white-knight cause you're terrible at it.
Then stop trying to be a white-knight cause you're terrible at it.
You still aren't looking at the fucks I dont give Look at them.
The only problem I have about the Free-to-Play change is that sourcemod is broken right now, which means for the people who are hacking ect, we can only use the irritating and badly made valve controls. [editline]f[/editline] Oh, and you spend about an hour trying to get sourcemod to work, to no avail. :argh:
well shit never expected it to be F2P i bought tf2 and all i have to show for it is a premium account & a hat
Only played about 150 hours before the Scout update, and the game's been steadily downhill* since then. *Sans the war update.
STOP FUCKING BITCHING ABOUT IT I have a total of 10 hours in this game. Fucking stop it, you big baby
You still aren't looking at the fucks I dont give Look at them.
And you said my posts were dumb.
I have yet to see one hacker. Where are all these hackers I hear about?
PREMIUM USER MASTER RACE. SEIG HEIL.
Oh what the fuck almost every server I tried had russians talking and flooding the chat with their weird language. And they fucking ignore you if you tell them to talk in English like they do in EVERY damn game. Fuck.
And you said my posts were dumb.
To be fair they are. And then you put the icing on the cake when someone points that out/disagrees with you by spamming dumb ratings.
I've lost interest in this game now. I used to be able to play with the "regulars" at an arena server and it was always fun. Now it's always full and laggy. Even if I get in, it's just new players.
The same thyng the did with Battlefield Heroes, COmbat Arms. I think u get more money if u do somethking like that.
Valve can you give me back 2340 hours of my life? At least 1500... [sp]It's a joke[/sp]
The same thyng the did with Battlefield Heroes, COmbat Arms. I think u get more money if u do somethking like that.
I guess, can't wait till they add spiders, exp system and all that shit that they trolled us about once, its coming true. Referring to this joke they did. "// TF2 MMO "TF_MMO_LFG" "Looking For Group" "TF_MMO_Quest1" "You must kill %s1 %s2 to complete this quest." "TF_MMO_Monster1" "Boars" "TF_MMO_Monster2" "Rats" "TF_MMO_Monster3" "Bats" "TF_MMO_Monster4" "Wolves" "TF_MMO_Monster5" "Spiders""
I have to give it to Valve, this is a really bold, ambitious thing to do. Don't think it's ever really happened in the world of FPSes. I just kind of have a bad feeling about it.
Look, if you're annoyed by all the new people on your servers, you find that you don't like pub tf2 anymore and think you can play decently well, I have a suggestion. Grab 5 of your regulars, perhaps 1 or 2 more, and make a 6-man compeditive team. Even if you're not the greatest, get into some matches, and just have fun. Compeditive TF2 is great, and it's not all serious.
Guys, instead of raging at F2P player, you should explain the rules, and give them few bro-tips.
Guys, instead of raging at F2P player, you should explain the rules, and give them few bro-tips.
Dude I was trying to help and revive Monday Night Combat games with other people.... the left because Uber didn't made better tutorial.... and right now F2P TF2 will take some of new players from MNC right now.
man, i don't have any problem whit the F2P players, ok they may only speak foregin languages or they spin mad fast headshotting everyone in sight, but theres the instrument to mute/kick them. too much overdrama for me.
http://www.destructoid.com/team-fortress-2-free-to-play-whiners-demand-a-refund-204512.phtml Pretty much how I feel. 'It doesn't matter that gamers have been able to get more gameplay for their $20 than many $60 titles, the very fact that newcomers don't have to pay has retroactively made the years of free updates disappear like magic.'
So I've yet to see a hacker in 850 hours of play. And I have a feeling that's not going to change. Do people over in the states, europe and asia just hack more often or something? Do the higher populations mean that there are more hackers to connect to popular servers? I don't really understand how you guys are meeting so many hackers.
I love it when this sort of thing happens and people are like "we deserve a refund if we paid" and when you look at their profiles they've played for like 2000 hours. I really think that's your money's worth right there.

I Played a few rounds on ctf_turbine last night. It was kinda sad to see the amount of new players on the server. Got people asking questions like "How do I build the small sentry?" and "How do you turn invisible?" At first I thought it was a joke until I saw these people getting the most basic achievements like 'Hard to kill', 'land grab', and of course the gibus grab. It was 7 on 7 and I'm fairly certain that only me and this one huntsmen sniper were the only two people who had played TF2 before. We both had scores well above the next highest player. I'm sure as they learn the game, they'll end up adding to the community. But the next month or two is gonna be hell.

I say we should all make sure we stand out from these Free Players, wear The Proof of Purchase Proudly on your favorite class, that way we can all identify eachother in the mist and fog of the beloved, and hated "Free Frags"

The TF2 we knew, the one we thought would last forever, the one that always inspired the best in it's community with each video and update, is gone forever. It was shot with spy vs. sniper. It's heart stopped with mann-conomy. Now it's cold and dead. You may be exited for the new items now, but eventually you'll realize they make the game just as unfun as before, no matter your level of skill, or "ways of playing" (lol you can just do this to counter this). It's just another shock of the paddles, to try and reawaken the dead community just like it was with polycount. The game and (non ingame) content that was inspired by it will forever sit unseen on youtube and deviantart. Not because the game will be forgotten, but because it will be remembered, and nobody wants to be reminded of what it once was. Some of us remember sorrowfully: what the most creative community of any PC game accomplished, and could have accomplished. But it's a game company and there's money to be made, it's a fact of life, I simply pray Valve doesn't follow the bastardization-via-collectables route with games released in the future, whatever form it may take. Hats or otherwise.
Also, this whole mess just feels like another Halo Incident.
