I'm glad that I bought this game when it first came out, and I'm glad that many people now get to experience this game for free.
I just hope that the server browser, which is 90% servers that only have bots which appear as humans, doesn't cause too much confusion for the new players. As someone who has played a ridiculous amount of TF2 but has taken about an 8-month break, returning to the abundance of servers faking players that can't even be seen as fake by choosing View Server Info has, quite a few times, caused me to launch the game, spend 5 minutes trying to find a server, and then exit the game. I just hope this isn't the first impression for most of the new players.
Maybe with all the new incoming players due to the game being free, servers will have less of a need to fake human players, and some more clean servers start popping up.

I don't see why people are complaining this much. I understand some frustrations, but we've gotten 4 years to enjoy the game. If you bought the game and enjoyed it I can't see why having more players enjoy this game would be a problem.
I get satisfaction knowing I've played this game for a long time.

ahaha, you guys are classic. you payed an extremely small price for a game that could easily go for $50 a long time ago (we're talking years, months), and you bitch that valve is letting everybody play a restricted version of the game for free.
It's not like you're losing money, Valve is just allowing other people who didn't pay to get a restricted version of the game. TF2 needs more players anyway.
