TF2 for the worst computers conceivable - Games

Could I play this with a Toshiba laptop from 2006 with a 1.7 dual core processor, 1 gb of ram, and an Intel GMA 950 chip with 224 mb memory?

I doubt you could run STEAM with that... let alone start up TF2

On Some maps, it doesn't matter how much you put in yourself, because the map is so horribly optimized that even the smallest map will make you have low fps. *cough* Orange Maps *cough*

Can I get the FPS achieved, by replacing the models, by removing particles, gibs, muzzle flash etc.

I went from 60+ fps on high to 10 on minimum Any ideas why guys? Ever since the past few updates a few months ago. My performance in like every source game has gone to shit.

Update your shizzle? Have you installed any programs recently? Before I installed this crappy toolbar thing without knowing when I downloaded this files and it ran like 15 shitty, memory guzzling processes when I logged on.

No phonged weapons pack helped me with my FPS,when I had weaker PC.

Not mentioned, but some people can get a lot of FPS by turning their lightmap off. Can't you do this by alt-tabbing?

Try updating your drivers? Otherwise, not much can be done.

The Old School pack appears to be unstable, some of the models are not functioning, especially weapons.

Sorry about the bump but this is really helpful, just used the un-phonged model pack (all three) and it helped without making the game look horrible. I just want it higher up on the thread list for easier reference when I need it.
