A variant is OFBD Obsessive Forward Base Disorder Those who are attacking on an attack/defend, but decide that setting up and defending a forward base is more important that attacking. The most popular are the tunnels in the first 2 stages of dustbowl. "THERE'S NOBODY ON THE POINT! lets just take it!" "But they still have the tunnel..."
Spy capping pubs, oh the rage
It's pretty insane how some people tend to forget to push the cart in PL maps. I've always found that maxing out the speed of the cart (it's x4 on most stages) is the most helpful thing you can do, since it puts a lot of pressure on the defending team, AND it avoids wasting time, because you're gonna have to push the payload if you want to win anyway
It's even funnier when you only realize you forgot the cart after you have decimated the defending team and are currently in the process of spawn-camping them.
Actual quote. Me: "PUSH THE CART STOP IT FROM GOING BACK YOU'RE RIGHT THERE COME ON" Scout: "Fuck that, i'm gonna get that fucking sniper!"
Mario Kart is a fun Deathmatch map.
Then a Sniper joins.
Then a Sniper joins.
This. The Mario Kart server I play on has a 5 second spawn kill protection, which, If I'm quick enough as a demoman, can be used stickybomb jump straight onto the roof of the map without a scratch. from there I often have melee duels with whatever demomen are in the game. Then an engineer sentry jumps to the roof and the entire map is littered with wrangled sentries on any roof, even the stupid high corners.
Mario Kart is a fun Deathmatch map.
Even more hilarious is to go into 1-2 or the disco and kill everyone there and then they all go "-yournamehere- IS A SRSFAG OMG ADMUN PLZ BAN" Also I seem to have lost the IP to the randomizer server, anyone care to post it?
priority list (in my experience) 1, anything in the way of the objective 2, Objective 3, killing strays (like snipers who are retreating just a bit too late after their team is already long gone. and yes, getting revenge on those dominating you IS NOT A PRIORITY. If its a sniper, Then stop standing still and being predictable. If its spy then you should be watching your back. If its any other class, avoid them if you can.
I play mostly cp maps, so I see a lot of: 5 snipers standing in the spawn-zone, engineers who don't build teleporters, engineers who don't help other engineers, fuckload of spies being burnt to crisp because they are trying to sap a dispenser and have absolutely no idea what stealth means/is, no medics/heavies.
engineers who don't build teleporters, engineers who don't help other engineers
This is a good sign you need to look into getting a new favorite server. I have never had a 5 point CP map, or an A/D CP map, where Engineers didn't at least try to get a teleporter going. Usually it's me, but still.

I usually switch to the class most needed to even out, but It's pretty de-moralizing when I have to run 20km to get to a heavy who yells for medic. He's probably dead by the time I've reached him.
I hate this kind of players, who are only doing their favourite thing: deathmatch in a map with a real objective. I have an example: As I was playing on a Randomizer arena server (sure, arena might be a bit deathmatch, but read further), a player named Chow along with other players were all the time saying things like: "dont cap", "capping is for the reds" "lol noob capper". I then told Chow that TF2 isn't the right game for him. He then responded with "well im bored of CSS". I found that funny.
You were playing on the Randomizer server. The objective on that server is to try out different combinations of weapons and classes. Capping the point is a fallback if the other player camps with powerful weapons.
It's all tactics.
Don't Cap? Good tactic i want you on my team as lead tactician teach me more.
I myself usually don't really care too much about capping, but when I have the chance, I do it.
Actually, arena is supposed to be a deathmatch, and capping should be a last resort, so yeah, the guy was kind of right.
No. He was wrong, and you are wrong. The cap is there for a reason. It is there so that people won't have to make their friends wait in spectator while the enemy team hide. The cap forces out cowering enemies, and keeps the game flowing. It isn't unfair. You're risking your own life by standing on an exposed area, while forcing the enemy to get into action or face the consequences of being inefficient and slow.
