12 items, not one of them a hat. I speced for a while, thats why I managed to get that much, and didn't team die/die while on RED or BLU.
Where exactly can I get SIM? Google brings up multiple programs
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1110072
It also comes with Source Tools if you download it.
Can I change the number of max connection retries? I know I could do something like "find retry" or retries but it doesn't work with sendcmd and I'm too lazy to start TF2 and maybe someone knows it already.

max retries?
sendcmd find retry works. I just dont know what you're looking for.
today i got 5 items and 1 of them was a pain train my very first community item:O
seriously though this textmode idling stuff is awesome, can't believe i only started doing it last night
Does the text say when you get an item? And how do you disconnect? just close the window?
Here's a new server list that I made for use with Source Tools.
http://filesmelt.com/dl/1-servers1.txt
It is a list of almost every single idle server. (I hope.) There are 61 servers total in no particular order. (Double my previous total.)
What I did was use data from GUM's blacklist generator to filter out each server that disables the "Wait" command as that will stop it from working, then used rate 3000 to refresh the server list and I added all of the servers that run on an achievement_idle map or some variation of that to the blacklist. I refreshed multiple times to gather more servers. Then I simply copied and pasted the info from the blacklist file into the server list file. (Of course, sans the "wait" ones.)
Enjoy.
Is it possible to stop Source Tools from running on startup?
what command goes to join a team and a class?
As previously stated 1 million times, you don't need to join a team/class.
so the next time I decide to play, I get my sweet loots right?
also does this take up any CPU or just connects me to a server like the old idle program?
properties -> set launch options -> type in "-noborder" without quotes of course.
Open TF2, set the resolution to your computer's max resolution, then set to windowed mode.
noborder will get rid of the pesky windows around TF2 so that it's the exact same as running fullscreen and now you can alt+tab instantly.
What does the shit in the OP achieve, exactly? Anything you get from idling with this you could have gotten by idling normally. Inform me if there's any distinguishable difference.
Not a single drop in 10+ hours.. argh.

auto reconnects if you get d/c'd from the server
I rated you heart for answering me without hurting my internet self esteem, but in retrospect, I probably should have rated informative. I'm sorry. :saddowns:
I wonder if Valve might take actions. Not because it's "Idling" as so, but rather that Source Tools are often used for this.
auto reconnects if you get d/c'd from the server
To be fair, the OP was only about textmode. The guy had a "point" though he missed the main idea that it's to diminish resource usage.
You can idle with TF2 on a computer that would shit its pants if it had to do video rendering [though for such computers, I recommend using -noshaderapi with -textmode]
The auto-reconnect from Source Tools isn't the OP :p

The question would be: How would they know you use Source Tools?
It doesnt fall under VAC [VAC can't detect it no matter what]
It doesn't connect to specific servers [They caught SteamStats users by checking if the user connected to SteamStats specific servers]
Tons and TONS of people use "-textmode" without Source Tools. [Would be dangerous to assume anybody who used "-textmode" was using Source Tools]
What does the shit in the OP achieve, exactly?
You can reduce the amount of memory hl2.exe uses from 700 MB to only 90 MB.
Can someone tell me the fucking command to join a team and class?
I know i fucking dont need to but i want to
I know i fucking dont need to but i want to
And we don't "fucking" need to tell you how to join a team/class but I also don't want to.
I know i fucking dont need to but i want to
why the fuck would you want to join a team or a class, there are no differences

You can't, stop asking.

There is a command to join a class, but there isn't one for a team.
