Right click on Team Fortress 2 in your Steam Games list, hit 'properties.' Should be in the first tab of the box that pops up, 'Set launch options...'
Is there any way to use console commands when in this mode? It would make things a great deal easier.

Don't worry, valve knows that we all hate it, so they will force the wings and the halo into everyones loadout slots(the ones that did use this) and won't be able to remove it until episode 3 is released.

Jesus, there's been like 3 threads about new ways to idle, that seem to actually work 'legally,' since the purge, and every fucking thread has drawn sides between people saying 'I really don't want to risk it' and others saying 'LOL NUB U CNT GET BAND LOL.' Respect other peoples' paranoia, were you even an active idler during the purge? Did you lose 3 hats? No? Then shut up. Yes? And you see what happened, do you really blame these people for wanting to not risk it? Didn't Valve say 'next time we wipe everything'? Okay then.
Oh, also there's the side that says 'sure why not.' Also the side saying idling is for losers, but fuck those losers.
This is not aimed at any particular post or person, but Charles' post reminded me of it.

Does this use as much RAM as it normally does without -textmode?
How can you get your items after idling? Every time I've left the game without clicking "OK" on my idled items, I didn't get any after. (sudden reboot, power outage, etc)

If you think idling is wrong/risky in the first place, I think your opinion about "-textmode" doesnt apply, as your opinion is about idling and not "-textmode".

Hey guys: When Valve did the removal of items from SteamStats, it removed the items you got, not all of yours. Well, at least mine. They will remove all now, but this is HL2.Exe we're running here.

I still don't want to use this method because it's impossible to tell if the server you are on is connected to Steam servers. A lot of Idle servers have that problem: People idle for hours on it and then realize that it wasn't connected to Steam, so you just waste time. Also, how would you tell when the server disconnects?
Maybe you people just shouldnt Idle.

I meanyou paranoids who don't get that even in a normal Idle server, you are supposed to run it while you are sleeping and not able to play Team Fortress.
If it disconnects, you know about as much as if it disconnected while sleeping.
Just connect to another idle server in the morning or what not if no one is dying.

Fuck if it tells you what is going on in the console, then it should say that the server lost connection to steam or say DROPPED PLAYER FROM SERVER NO LOGON
