It's still possible to be a walking tank and show feelings like gratitude and happiness.
Same goes for everyone else of them. Hell, i say even solly is at least a bit emotionally attatched to his teammates.
NO. Not in that way you perverted gits! I do agree with the whole homosexuality part. They do not bump uglies in any way because that would basically get hung if they were caught.
More like emotionally attached to his shovel.
Soldier is an interesting case. I think that at the very least he's schizophrenic, or he has some kind of mental disease.
Wasn't there, somewhere, something that mentioned Soldier's mother forcing him to wear girl's clothes? Or was that just some random fanfiction I read.

His mother wanted a girl, so thats why his name is Jane Doe (even though it stands for a lady without identification)
It was in that comic valve made for the Demoman vs Soldier update thing
Spy is a gentleman through and through. I don't see how someone would think otherwise. :raise:
Gentlemen don't usually stab people in the back
It's pretty dishonorable

Mr Jane Doe, like Marge is Mrs Homer Simpson. Duh.
Anyone else read this in the soldier's voice?
I actually read that in the announcer's voice

Oh I remember reading that too somewhere.

There should have been something about the scout being blonde.

Or being a ginger. Yes, I'm looking at you, Valve.
FYI: Pretty much every single damn instance of the Soldier being batshit insane/schizophrenic/talking to his shovel is a fanfic made by Cat Bountry.
(Forgot about Meet the Soldier/WAR! comics so I said something stupid)
The Soldier is insane, but he isn't as insane as the fanfics make him.
The Soldier isn't insane
I stopped reading here because I couldn't stop laughing

The Soldier isn't insane, he's just overly patriotic and hilariously stereotypical of a drill sergeant.
(click it)
Yep, this comic totally shows Soldier is a perfectly, over patriotic american.
Oh hey, I almost completely forgot about the War comics.
The Soldier isn't insane, he's just overly patriotic and hilariously stereotypical of a drill sergeant.
We're talking about a man who lined up the heads of his enemies on a fence post and rambled to them about how the modern zoo came to be when ancient Chinese military general, Sun Tzu, herded two of every animal on Earth onto a boat and "beat the crap out of every single one".
The Soldier is in fact, Fucking Insane.
Hes so goddamn unhinged no wonder they didn't let him into the Military
Or being a ginger. Yes, I'm looking at you, Valve.
The person they hired to do the comics was more than likely a patron of TF2Chan, where they believe the RED scout is redheaded.

The soldier IS insane. The army didn't accept him because he is batshit insane, so he travelled to Germany all by himself and killed Germans
until 1949

Just to clarify, WWII ended in 1945. That's how nuts he is.

You know, to be randomly off-topic, I always felt sad for the soldier, when I looked where he lived. After all, he is a high-paying mercenary, but due to his batshit insanity, he lives in what seems to be bunker, living off cans of soup and ribs. Sure, he is content with his life, but it is still damn sad (especially, when compared in contrast to Demoman). Mainly, because he will forever live like that, even if he knows that there is no direct war yet. Even if the life around him seems peaceful. He can't simply live in a society, he can't work with the people outside of his job. And even then, those people are pretty damn limited in his view (perhaps even to the importance of a useful tool), and one of the greatest bonds he ever had (with Demoman (NOT GAY!)) has been severed horribly.
So, Soldier is a man with no real connection to the world, seeing it with contempt, and will live measurably until a new conflict will come into existence, where he once again, returns to his only goal in life. And it's not even a real goal, because Soldier really wants to die. His wish of war is simply a wish to die, but obviously he won't kill himself as it is a hidden wish. At least, he won't die until he'll kill a few more bastards as well.
Although, if the respawn is to be a real object, the Soldier would become even more miserable every time he comes back to life. Because he doesn't want to be alive any more, and yet he just can't tell himself that he wants to die.
But yeah, next comic.

Damn. This man spoke what I was afraid to say. Rated informative.
I think everybody who has read Cat Bountry's fanfics agrees that she is the only one who really catches the classes personalities, making them friendly with eachother and at the same time insane mercenaries(especially soldier).
Her fanfics are the only reason i go to TF2chan.
Edit: I agree with you gufu, in the end i feel bad for Soldier, especially after reading Reunion.:frown:
I didn't even know TF2 had a fanfic community. There's not much of a story behind it to manipulate. Granted, you do have characters.
I guess the fact that a multiplayer game can have a fanfic community speaks of it's narrative depth.

And suddenly they become bigger. Sniper's glasses look a little funny. Why no medic :raise:
There are nine people where do you think he is
Snipers glasses scare me and medic looks like some random guy with a tin hat and a saw
And thumbtagging this posted from days ago why?
because I'm really fucking tired and I wasn't paying attention. I'd go find some new content but I don't know where to look :saddowns:
