Am I the only one who thinks Diego should also be removed as admin of the scamming thread? He believed the scammer and refused to listen to the explanations that many of us provided for him on the thread.
Isn't showing who has how many scammer friends immoral? The person might not be a scammer, but should I judge him by his friends? It's almost suggesting that you shouldn't hang out with that "kind of person" or "crowd". Idiotic. I don't care for trade scammers, but it should be up to someone else, not a petty website to decide things.
Why do we NEED a warning label? We didn't DO anything. We got a few lucky trades by people who didn't know the values. Are we going to go up to other random trades on tf2tp and go "I'LL GIVE 1 WEAPON FOR IT HEHUEUHEUHUEH." It doesn't make sense.
Wish Valve would do something about it. Something about trading that is.
Wish Valve would do something about it. Something about trading that is.
In a sense it's all part of the free market debate. Valve is sticking with the no regulations side, sort of.
Isn't SteamRep a community thing? So they could easily abuse the entire thing if they wanted an other sites would follow? What the fuck, I mean I could understand if it was Valve handled, but this could just be so easily abused.
Wish Valve would do something about it. Something about trading that is.
What exactly should they do? Limit it to 5 trades per week and you have to buy new trades?
Wish Valve would do something about it. Something about trading that is.
They should let you choose to keep your steam data private from those kind of bullshit websites. As far as I can tell anyone can make a site like that. Just wait for ones that categorize people by other things, like reported for micspamming, griefing or not playing well.
What the fuck is this shit Oh god, I have 1 scammer as a friend!
What the fuck is this shit Oh god, I have 1 scammer as a friend!

That is the million dollar question.
All the autobans have been overturned. We'll think more about this before doing anything else.
That is the million dollar question.
I'll take the 50:50 joker...
They're banning the people who post in the ripoff trading megathread I guess that's that
Trading sites should have no rules.
Do research. Whoever isn't a scammer, just unban them. No need to have a 'warning' label, that'll make trading even harder. And trust me, people don't need the extra burden of trying to find a fair trade AND of trying to explain they're not a scammer.
Impossible with the amount of people trading in TF2TP. obstipator's method is the best way possible. It at least tells the guy you're trading with "Hey, theres some guy who was reported as a scammer, watch your back".
All the autobans have been overturned. We'll think more about this before doing anything else.
Don't give us warning tags, thanks.

'Cause of dickheads like Diego, who is a goddamn admin, who is also ignorant and who also has no logical thinking.
Stop everything you guys, it's not going to help us.
Hello, I'm an admin at TF2TP. Someone linked me to this thread. Ok, so in retrospect, this might have been a mistake to do this all at once; My personal opinion is that SteamRep is a useful site to check out a user's status before going through with a trade. Tons of people have reported being scammed on TF2TP and a lot of the time the offending user had already been marked as a scammer on SteamRep. So myself and the other mods would ban those users and any alts they may have. This has gotten tedious, so we were thinking an autoban was in order. So we did that an hour or two ago. But obviously shown from this thread, there are some legit traders that are marked as scammers on SteamRep. What I'm thinking about doing is to undo all those autobans and put a warning notice next to people that are listed as a scammer on SteamRep. People can still create trades on TF2TP, but they'll have a warning next to their name. They can change that by appealing it on whichever site gave them their scammer flag. Meanwhile, we'll keep going through manually banning only those that TF2TP data proves have scammed others. What's the general opinion about this change?
Don't ban them for a long period of time. It's Just not right.
Let us all have a moment of silence, for a stupid rep site and bad decision making on Tftp has lost us the rip off trading thread.
Stop everyone, let it be, the admins at TF2TP did/are doing an unbanning, they're removing your tags, the ripoff trading thread is closed, just fucking stop
Uh so hold on. If I 'lowball' trade someone, I'm a scammer for life? I enjoy 'rip off trading' because its fun to see just how well I can do. Whenever I set up a trade, I always ask someone what they prefer, hats or weapons. Often its weapons, and I can't help that. The fact that when I asked them what their favourite class is, and they reply spy, and I just *happen* to have a nice Ambassador that they'll have tons of fun trying out, is beyond my control. It's a player controlled economy, and one mans opinion on what something is worth may vary greatly from what another man thinks. I'm trading people for what they want, not intentionally ripping them off. I never open up a trade where I intend to get, in my eyes, a good deal, and immediately say "gimme bills" and put up some shitty razorback. Whether someone lowballed someone else or not is completely subjective and banning someone on something subjective makes you a complete retard.

Edit: That is... if you're not a PROU TRADAH FROM SourceOP!
So the "Ripoff Megathread" ... I mean "SCAMMER FUCKPLACE" is history? :( It was fun to see all those nice "trades".
It was depressing.
Depends on your point of view.
Depends on your point of view.
it was rather depressing seeing people get sunbeams unusuals for weapons
