• How many weapons to make a hat?

I haven't had a hat drop in over a year, or in 4 hat crafts. [editline]01:03PM[/editline]
Getting 54 weapons doesn't take much time at all. A month at most. (At least this is the case for me, I get 10-20 items per week.)
Bullshit. I get 7 items a week.
Question: How many weapons to make a hat? Answer: Too many.
Fix'd Actually read the thread, don't post dumb answers.
I've read the thread. But 54 is too many if you consider that you get a max of 10 items each week. [editline]02:13PM[/editline] It could also be that 9 of those 10 items you get are for different classes, this wouldf result in getting only one Scrap metal in one week of playing.
Guys, I have a question. Is there any connection between drops and maps? Like, when you play Valve-created ones you get them more often? I'd like to get drops but love to play modded servers on customized maps.

I hate that my firend got 4 random hats and crafted one, but i had to craft 3 and got 0 random ones
Don't be complaining about 54 items, it used to be 80-something when Scrap cost 3 weapons.
Yeah but the difference was that you didn't have to wait as long as you do now to be able to craft a hat... Why? Because the items didn't have an item cap back then.
Yeah but the difference was that you didn't have to wait as long as you do now to be able to craft a hat... Why? Because the items didn't have an item cap back then.
Seeing as I'm not a filthy idler, I have to wait less time.
You also have to consider that sometimes all the things you get from weapon drops may not be able to be craftable together, that ups the number to like, 70 or so.
Seeing as I'm not a filthy idler, I have to wait less time.
this
You also have to consider that sometimes all the things you get from weapon drops may not be able to be craftable together, that ups the number to like, 70 or so.
Yes we should be able to craft a hat once a week.
Question: How many weapons to make a hat? Answer: Too many.
Well, used to be 81...
Yeah but the difference was that you didn't have to wait as long as you do now to be able to craft a hat... Why? Because the items didn't have an item cap back then.
But that was only because idlers fucked it up.
Hit my cap at 5 items again
Item cap per day y/n
But that was only because idlers fucked it up.
We found a way that meant that we didn't have to wait so retardedly long and we used it. Idlers are proof that people do not enjoy waiting a long time for something they want, they are a representation of just how much people like the random drop system. The anti-idling update was a nerf to anyone not wanting to wait a long time to get hats and items, but a buff to everyone that doesn't mind the wait.
I have a hat. 1 hat. And I'm cool with that because they look cool. But they don't actually make any difference to the game in itself at all. If you're so desperate to get them all and are happy to leave your PC signed in for hours on in in the grave hope that you'll eventually get something cool. Maybe you'd be better suited to pokemon or something.

Hats are stupid, in my opinion. I don't play TF2 for hats, honestly, I don't give a fuck if my friends/enemies are wearing a hat. I play TF2 because the gameplay is fun, and all hats have done so far, is making people have their computer turned on for 2 weeks straight while in TF2.
Please don't start with the whole lol idling is cheating.
Please don't start with the whole misinterpreting my sentence. You "played the game wrong" and we all got punished for it with weekly item caps.
Idling wasn't cheating, and idling wasn't wrong. It was a fault on Valve's part to release a drop system that didn't work the first time around, and was easily abused to the point where people didn't actually play the game, so they fixed that.
