Its weird that they included hair on the soldiers head for the mutton chops yet you can only see it with i think two hats.

Ok, just crafted the new rocket launcher. IT'S THE BEST.
The Promotional Transmission on the Grordbort page looks really awesome.

If you use a charge shot in heavy combat it really screws you over.
1. Do the charge shot with the Cow Mangler. 2. Taunt. 3. Congrats, you are now a Carebear.
RIP TF2 artsyle remnants 2009-2011
1. Do the charge shot with the Cow Mangler. 2. Taunt. 3. Congrats, you are now a Carebear.
Do you just glow?
People aren't realizing this The 5 rockets is the only OP thing about it, nerf it down to like 2 and increase the damage a bit and it's fine
2 rockets makes any rocketlauncher unsuitable for combat. It's the limitless ammo AND the 5 rockets that make it blatantly better than the stock RL. The ability to get a minicrit + afterburn + EMP is just icing on that bitter cake.
1. Charge cow mangler 2. Attempt rocket jump 3. Get the Pilot Light achievement.
This new RL looks good with the spiral sallet.
The Mangler is useless as fuck when you're ubered and you have to rush a sentry. Right off the bat, you have the "doesn't do as much damage to buildings penalty." Unless you're being mega healed by a Quick Fix, the knockback of a Level 3 sentry is going to make it tough on you to properly do the charge up shot. Also, in the time it takes to charge that shot: -You're already half way through the uber -A pyro can airblast you/demo or soldier can knock you back, throwing you off target -Alert Engies can move their sentries out of harms way Even then, it only disables the sentry, not take it out. You'll then have to either switch to your shotgun/melee to take it out or hope that another team mate comes in to finish it off. Also, firing the charged shot is so obvious to enemy pyros that it actually makes it easier for them to anticipate and reflect it back at you, which is REALLY deadly

Start charging up and then jump out and fire when your team comes in (ubered or not).
New update in a nutshell so far:

[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
The thing is though, is that you move at revved up Heavy speed during the charge shot.
Oh no, I have to anticipate the timing of my own shot and movement so I can hit a stationary object, so difficult.
This thing is not at all as OP as I imagined, the "Rockets" travel slower and are pretty easy to avoid.
ITT: faggots bitching about soldier items
Ahaha valve hates us all. "Missing shipments" from the Grordborts website. Looks like all we're getting is a misc item and some (probably) heavy snacks.
wen already have the misc item, its all-class
ITT: faggots bitching about soldier items
I'm pretty sure people are allowed to bitch when one shot from the new launcher is the polygon equivalent of the Pyro's whole rendered model. Not to mention SOLDAR NEEDS MOAR WEPONS.
New update in a nutshell so far:
What movie is that, I remember seeing it awhile ago and never knowing what it was.

I for one love these weapons.
>crying and butthurting about items in general
Difference being, most people aren't mad about art style or some new hat, people are annoyed that the Soldier of all classes gets kooky techno weapons when he already just got 2 new packs, while the Engineer is still kicked to the curb so far. The new launcher alone is already looking somewhat OP. Plus the new weapons are just painful to the FPS when the whole server has them and they're so retardo high in polygons and particles.
To deactivate sentry's means you have to be out of range with a slow moving missile (which a skilled Engineer will just move or take the shot himself to save it). It's only really useful for wide open sentries. Because that 5 second charge fucks you hard. Surprisingly well balanced.
Just tried it, it's not OP, it just sounds OP. Infact it's almost worse than the other weps I've used The charge does more than "disable" buildings though, when used on people it can catch them on fire. The damage is practically the same, and reloading is slow and exists. Consecutive reloads are identical but that initial reload is slightly longer by a quarter of a second, that won't affect you too much unless you shoot -> reload frequently. The fact remains that having an extra rocket, limitless reserve ammo and the OPTION to unleash a charged shot is what makes it superior to the stock launcher.
