Ok guys, you've been pissing me off for long enough, so it pleases me to finally say that v3 is now ready. This will be the final version(s). :) I will be posting the pack soon. Changes: more deeper trenches multiple game modes (CTF, CP, ARENA, KOTH) more obstacles easier on every class (yes, every class) I actually want to thank you guys. It is your first map using displacements? Considering the fact that the map is all about trenches which are displacements, it the exact same thing as your first map! DON'T FUCKING POST IT UNTIL YOU GET BETTER. The new one is an improvement on the old, I will admit, but it's still a bad map. I'm sorry for being harsh, but it is true. I am obligated to tell you nice try because my first displacement map was terrible and you have some good potential. [B]EDIT:[/B] I just played it a second time and it's a lot more balanced. But my point still stands.
Trenches aren't supposed to look like dirt roads, for your information.
Surely you could at least put the caps in bloc houses (I think that's what they're called, you know, the ones that hold machine guns in them. Or troops. Like in RUSE Beta for any of you who played. Anyway, I Digress) to stop them from being so sniper friendly. Of course you could just add the prefix sn_ and then you'd cut the complaining. The displacements are blocky too (Look at one of the pictures, its edge is almost as sharp as a bloody knife), and the players on the points can be sniped. Before you go "Ohh no you can't comment you haven't played", I can tell from the screenshots you posted. They said it was way too blocky and I'd get no where with it, so i went with the displacement maps!

Trench slopes should be steeper, and maybe add some tunnels going to other trenches.

Your displacements are pointy and sharp. It will work better if you put water in the trenches because it looks like crap without water.
This map is honestly really shitty, like everyone else is saying. There's a [i]lot[/i] to improve. These are generally all listed in order of importance, with the top being the most important. Don't get me wrong, they're all important, the lower ones are just less "most important". [list]Enclose the spawns, probably with a bunker. Leaving them open as is allows and might even encourage spawn camping. Also include resupply cabinets so people can run back to safety and resupply, as well as re-equip if they so please. [*]Make the trenches more realistic. They tend to have much steeper slopes. One picture that I remember well was that the trench had wooden walls installed to keep the dirt from falling in, and it was deep enough that one could walk in it without fear of being shot. To get up to ground level, one would climb, and I'd assume there would be stairs or ramps or something. There was also a step that one could sit on, or stand on and shoot over the top. See if you can do this. [*]Create a more intricate series of trenches. Don't just have a few paths that all connect to each other - add some dead ends and the like. You might have to make the map larger to do this. Also try to keep from doing perfect angles, have them snake around. If you have to, just doodle in paint or photoshop or something. Lay them out on (digital) paper, then map them. [*]Create underground tunnels and bunkers. Things that make it less bland. Bunkers could allow people to be above trench level, but below ground level and still fight, and with moderate protection from snipers. [*]Add cover above the trenches to make no man's land a viable way to try and get across the map. Right now, anyone above ground level is going to be sniped. Ideas include destroyed vehicles and bunkers and other rubble. [*]If you're going to have the capture points above ground with minimal cover in the surrounding area, at least surround the point with a little bit of stuff so you don't get snipers just picking everyone off. You could make a partially destroyed bunker or the like.[/list]
I apparently see that he has not studied up on Trench Warfare and tactics of the great war. Until then...it looks like a bad attempt at making the Los Angeles river into a map.
I think this is pretty decent. I mean it's pretty fun to play with bots.
