You don't even have to have the Diamondback equipped, though you do still need one. You can sap and destroy something with any other Spy revolver and switch to a Diamondback, and you'll still get the corresponding crits.
This is basically the same as the infinite Crits for Engineer some time ago.
Now if only Spy was able to go civilian while making infinite mini-sentries and having the ability to get critical hits after any charge distance, he'd be set with every temporary glitch.
