Visuals do care. In the Doom 2 era (and that's waaaaaaaaaay back I'm talking about 1994 here), ID software cared a fuckton about the visuals while keeping it within the limitations they had

There's a difference between orange_x and maps with good gameplay.
I actually like it. needs a little more individuality though.
Change the map theme, there are too many desert maps. Changing the tehme gives you more opportunities to decorate the map and fill up the open spaces.

Its not like changing the theme would be some 5 minute thing, would more be like rebuilding the map from scratch, and im not gonna do that.
