Stay out of the sentry's range and spam rockets at it, and then it's wrecked. The cow mangler can't do this, but it instead focuses on using teamwork to take down a sentry. Besides, it's not like the soldier can run right up to the sentry and disable it, he has to stay out of it's range and shoot from afar, just like when using the direct hit/vanilla RL. New style of countering the engie =/= OP.

I was playing dustbowl defending team, hard as shit because they were charge attacking our sentries and just spamming charge attacks everywhere.

Valve is an awesome company for giving new weapons all the time. How could you not appreciate that? Plus, the new engi weapons will probably be able to fight against the new soldier weapons better. I'm just saying I love how Valve cares about their community.

I'm not saying the weapon is grotesquely OP. I do think it's too powerful because it does seem like a substantial upgrade over the stock RL (which is perfectly balanced if you ask me), and its functionality is downright silly since it adopts two previously class-exclusive functions (that's not an inherent matter of balance, it just makes me ask 'wtf?'). I'm not saying I'll never have teammates to help me out of this situation, or that this weapon is an instant win against an Engie with a sentry. Aside from the generally awful in-game optimization of these items, my biggest issue is that the Mangler is basically the Sandman specifically for Engie. Remember how much everyone hated that fucking thing? It crippled players, took control out of their hands and limited their options. That's exactly what the Mangler does. It basically makes me throw up my hands and say "welp, fuck," assuming the rocket blast doesn't kill me outright as well, because if I manage to survive, my options and capabilities have become severely crippled. Sentries are already very easy to counter, so I have no idea why anyone thought this function was productive or necessary.

For everyone, much less engies, defending Dustbowl there is terribad.

I just thought about it, but if there is indeed 2 more sets to come, cause of the 2 remaining "grockets", wouldn't it be the perfect time for valve to add that minigun that deflects projectiles? That sounds pretty futuristic, in this context, it almost fits, when you look at the soldier's weaponry in that grocket. Though I'd be disappointed if the heavy did have something and the engy nothing.

Also, I haven't got any performance drops whatsoever. You may need a better computer.

rocket launcher is cool, and adds a little more to the usual soldier play style (especially with the reserve shooter) but i can't think of ANY reason to use the pistol
