Well, something did change. http://www.teamfortress.com/index.php "Now Fetureing DR. Grordbort's: Crash Lands Into TF2" Wasn't there before.... :tinfoil: -EDIT- DAMN NINJAS
Why would Valve do a multiple day update that updates TF2 each day? Then again it's not right to expect every update will be done the same way so who knows what they could pull.
Why would that do a multiple day update that updates TF2 each day? You know, the Bison pistol is actually a pretty nice alternative secondary for Soldier. It's misleading only doing 15 damage or so per shot, because chances are it'll hit 3 or 4 times in one shot on the same enemy. Overall, I like it, but I think I'll stick to the new laser launcher and the reserve shooter. The new launcher seems to launch people unusually high, and the added rocket makes the downside of the shooter a little less pronounced.

If they've decided to break updates into incremental patches, it'd reduce the load on the Steam servers when the entirety of the update is live.
Also, ARG for my new computer, gogogo :v: [editline]it's a joke, don't take it seriously[/editline] For some reason, Robin's hiding his online status (I can tell because he logged on last night but it says that he's not been online in a few days. Silly Steam, I see you glitching out there :v:). I wonder why he has it hidden :rolleye:
If it was just Soldier items, why would they add those rockets in-game just for these? I mean really. That's like hosting a huge party for someone, all of his/her friends invited, pool party and what not, and then giving that person only one present.
Why you people not read the thread? Some things have already been discussed :v:
The addition of the Grockets into the game seems like too much work to only lead up to 2 weapons that were just thrown into the game. Valve usually doesn't do that sort of stuff unless it's very significant but small. This has just been small and not too significant, so I expect there to be more.
Why would they add those 2 nice animations, and the bomb-holding one for solider, if it was only for 2 weapons? Doesn't make sense.
Because they love soldier
Why would they add those 2 nice animations, and the bomb-holding one for solider, if it was only for 2 weapons? Doesn't make sense.
Remember the hi-five animations? And the bomb carrying animations have nothing to do with these two weapons, they're presumed to be for something like a game mode since Heavy also has a similar animation.

One thing's for sure. The rockets are NOT the same, and they weren't removed yet. Something must be up.
One thing's for sure. The rockets are NOT the same, and they weren't removed yet. Something must be up.
Either that or WETA just loves a good build up.
One of The rockets will function and Redmond and Blutarch discover part of their property involves a moonbase, which is a new map *Fingers crossed*

I'm going with Engineer and Spy. Engy gets that shotgun, that sentry, and a grungy, retro-future claw to go with the sentry Spy gets a steampunk looking watch, and the Saboteur that they're heavily advertising all over their site. Just my guesses though. The style of the weapons doesn't really fit Heavy, and I don't see Valve adding a lot of Medic weapons. The weapons are kind of "heavy" looking for Scout to carry around, and nothing really strikes me on the site that would fit Demoman and Pyro. And Pyro using alienish weapons is just too obvious. And Sniper doesn't really get promos, so I doubt they'll start his long promo journey with steampunk styled rifles and stuff.
So. Really. They added three rockets into maps like they did with the doves before MtM. They made whole update page and a comic. They treat the Grordbort's Stuff as a major update on the blog. FOR JUST 2 WEAPONS? I cannot believe that.

IT'S SUCH A BIG DEAL TO GET SO MUCH ATTENTION!
Why do people assume that the laser guns ruin the artstyle? By artstyle they think "ANYTHING THAT IS FROM THE YEAR TF2 IS SET IN" If there were the laser gun weapons in the original vanilla TF2, people wouldn't complain about the artstyle. But since it was added later they do? If the TF2 universe had a laser gun, it would look like that. (and the universe does have that) it doesn't seem too tacky, I mean TF2 has teleporters, healing beams, etc. and they complain about a simple laser gun?
find it funny that people think it ruins the art style when this shit is in the game from launch
One of The rockets will function and Redmond and Blutarch discover part of their property involves a moonbase, which is a new map *Fingers crossed*
just like how we got a cp_medichospital. wait...
I think valve updated last night about 10 minutes ago. Still a bit of hope :v:

The stock launcher isn't really sleek, but it's simple and easy to read. Compare to the cow mangler.
You saying that the Cow Mangler isn't easy to identify from a distance
No, I'm saying that it just looks really complicated (ie visually noisy) compared to other weapons. The other rocket launchers are rather simple but well-defined, this one is complicated even though it is still well-defined and readable.
http://tf2.com/post.php?id=5900 Well shit.
I'd love it if there was a weapon equippable by all classes. Other than the Saxxy. Like the vanilla shotgun. Imagine having it on Sniper, Scout, Demo, Medic, and Spy. Now of course it would be more like a class-based all-class item. On Sniper, it would have a tighter spread and one more shell, but lower damage. On Scout, it would function the same as it would with Engineer, but with a bit more kick. On Demo, it could have 3 or so shots, but those shots would shoot explosive rounds, dealing around 40 damage with knockback. On Medic, it would act as a needle shotgun, shooting 6-8 needles. If all of the needles hit the target, they'd lose 2 health for 4 seconds. As for Spy, it would be a smaller version of the shotgun, with slugs instead of buckshot. Dealing around the same damage as a regular shotgun, but without the spread. Something around that. I'd love to have one replace my SMG, Scattergun, Grenade Launcher, Needlegun, and Revolver. Though it doesn't really fit spy at all.
http://tf2.com/post.php?id=5900 Well shit.
Hype over guys, thanks for listening!
I don't really see how that stops a day 2...
