Its possible to surf without source-mod.
I can indeed make a surf tutorial seeing as its VERY hard to surf, atleast it was for me when I first started.
Problem is, I don't know how to make surf maps.

#2: I got it removed because all you added was a few messages and made bots spawn. ANYBODY could do that..

I would use a premade one, and change all the textures to fit tf2. Maybe do some brush editing so its more smooth, like tf2 maps.
If you really want to go all out, make it look like a real map, with the ramp things held up, not just floating triangles.

I've been trying to make a training map, and I haven't got a clue what all the entities are and stuff. Maybe if this map was released a good month after the training entities were released, after lots of other training maps came out, maybe then it could be classed as "ANYBODY could do that"

Alright, Seeing as I have only 5 minutes to make this post, here goes:
To make your own training messages, or "objectives", first of all you need to make the map a training map.
Do that by setting up a "tf_logic_training_mode" entity anywhere in the map.
After that is done, to make a message you need to make a logic_relay that will TRIGGER the actual tf_logic_training_mode with the inputs "ShowTrainingMsg" and "ShowTrainingObjective".
ShowTrainingMsg is where you type (as a paramter) the actual objective, or message, and ShowTrainingObjective is where you type (as a paramter, again) the headline of the message.
I'll tell you more once I have more time, Seeing as I have to go now.
