Someone already said this.
I already responded to them. I don't feel like repeating myself so just read the thread again.
why does everyone say backburner is bad. it just needs a diffrent style of play i usually find more moments where i can burn there whole team from behind without taking ANY damage at all, so what if someone is firing projectiles just ignore them en ambush them when they follow you. best weapen in the enemy base to harass any base personel (snipers engi's )most of the time you can find a pattern in there base
from engi too sniper too spawn too medkits/supplys en then repeat you are KING in these area's if any other class follow you kill them ignore the rest en change you're pattern in an diffrent way
also shotgun is you're best friend for mid to long range nobody likes losing health either they go for there supplys or go after you just take a view potshots at them en run until you got them trapped.
one problem though unlike the normal flamethrower you're not credit too team
There really is nothing wrong with the backburner.
It's very effective if you can get behind the enemy team, I never use it though, because it's great for ambushes, but if you're good you can do nearly just as well in ambushes and you also have the added utility of the airblast for basically every other situation.
I use it time to time, and it basically makes getting behind people and ripping them up so much more satisfying. But thats all it has going for it. The FT could do it and have extra flexibility. Not to mention back detection sucks so much ass.

Doesn't help that the Flamethrower is bugged like fuck.
Does anyone know the actual range for the crit Backburner? Is it 180 degrees like the spy or less than that?
I hate these "how to play" shits.
If I equip the flare gun I'd usually go with the regular fire axe mainly because it should be necessary to have an anti-pyro/ underwater weapon. Even on maps without water, you should always have a weapon to combat enemy pyros. When I get into flame battles with another pyro I usually come out of it with very little health. So I'd use the axe, if I wasn't using the shotgun/axtinguisher combo. Although the flamer does large amounts of damage up close, it is inaccurate allowing you to easily strafe around it and axe an enemy pyro.
How to win in pyro on pyro battles:
Have him chase you, w+mouse1 style, with the flamethrower.
Backpedal, s+mouse1 style, with the flamethrower.
His flamethrower hitbox is half as long while yours is twice as long.
Watch as he burns to death while you barely get touched.

90, iirc.

1: Play Pyro until you work out a play style that suits you.
And that basically ends my guide. Good luck out there, Pyros.

But don' you run slower while running backwards? Doesn't that affect your opponent's ability to hit you?
