You can use it with the Gunslinger.
This is how I see it: The new Shotgun is probably more for Gunslinger engies. It cost 60 ammo to shoot, but if you kill someone you may end up getting double metal. Its terrible for normal Engies IMO, or at least, bad when using it with the Short Circuit.
Possibly the shotgun is better with the Wrangler or Pistol, I haven't exactly tested it much.
I love the Short circuit though. It kind of encroaches on Pyros territory for sentry defending, but I don't care as long as Pyro gets crap that doesn't reduce him to being the Engineer's Maid.

The Short Circuit's "electric fields" sounds awesome.
I've always thought the engineer should have some sort of electrical weapon. Like a reverse sapper. This is better than I ever dreamed.
