sniper rifle: let's encourage people to fully charge shots even more! christ
Bud, 125-shots are kinda lame now as most of the classes have some health modificator and/or heal and/or ability to blow you up to smithereens.
The new engie Pistol thing destroys enemy's AND Allied projectiles.
Trolling ahoy.

...fully charged shots deal 150 damage, 'bud'
that's enough to kill every 125 hp class even with a hp boost :V
if the rifle had +15 damage in general it wouldn't be so terribad but only on full charges? what the hell is 165hp shots gonna do that you can't do with 150
Kill him and get those weapons... Seriously though, He can probably get around $30-$50 at least if I was to make a quick estimate.
For all of them? Numbers that low are at least a buds each, likely more, I'd say $60+

15%, not +15 damage. That's 22-23 more damage.

Um :3
But it looks cool and give you the ability to headshot multiple dummies at the same time, yay!
I was in the following situation right now: A Blackbox soldier tried to attack me as a Deus Ex-Engie. He shot his rockets at me and I just destroyed them, switched to the new Shotgun and killed him with 4 fast shots while dodging his reloaded rockets. Great feeling, man!

I'm sure the penetration will be handy... when you're farming on an idle server or something. I can't see it actually being useful in any realistic situation.

I was playing on a server earlier for not that long and I actually saw (rather, heard) it happen quite a few times. Certainly a lot more than I expected.
When I saw the weapons, I died from the shock. When I read their stats, I flopped about and decided I'd be better off with my current loadouts.
Having weapons for the Engineer that are powered by metal does not fit with my playstyle, and a sniper rifle whose only bonuses are gained after fully charging it and the downside removes any safety I had, plus a revolver for Spy that does less damage and only gives me a bonus when I've sapped a building and escape, which is rare. None of these work with how I play in any server under any conditions.
All they really do for me is look spectacular, not a single one is truly functional for me.

I look at it this way: the "buff" of shooting through multiple enemies is the same as the "downside" of having tracer rounds in the sense that they're both useless.

Heavy + Medic duo's
Possible chance.

Only weapon I see being useful is the circuit, if you're helping another engie.
It essentially makes the soldier and demoman useless against a sentry guarded by a vigilant, precise circuit engie.

Oh god I just imagined two engies on the battlements in 2fort, one with a circuit and the other with a wrangler. Poor ol' soldiers/demos. That's where snipers pick up the slack, though.
Sniper rifle is great but both the Engineer weapons are total ass
The Widowmaker in particular is completely null, its a nice idea but 60 metal a shot makes regenerating it via damage impossible

They really need to make it much less to fire. Sixty damage is an extremely close ranged shot with most of the hitscan pellets hitting. The stats are why i wasn't too sure about buying it, but I guess if it doesn't turn out too great I can still sell it for probably a profit. This was the only one-key deal I saw up at the time.

I agree. You've gotta be a fucking twitch to kill someone with this thing.
If you do about 50 damage a shot you can make 20 shots from full metal without ever taking a break to reload. Shotguns fire pretty fast, so if you ever get into a situation where you can hit a lot of pellets you are going to have an absurd damage output.
Its obsolete compared to the regular shotgun.

I actually pulled off a kill. REALLY satisfying. In crowded areas it can be useful.

I see they updated the fetti effect
I hate it

I think we're all looking at it as a tool to gain more metal in the heat of combat for your buildings, but thinking about it makes it sound like more of an offensive engineer tool for good shots. Like the guy said, even if you don't completely make up for your ammo lost when it hits, you can still hopefully keep the decline at a steady rate comparable to the regular shotgun's reserve ammo.
I wonder if that means the bug is back where you can kill enemies through start up gates by shooting through your team mates.
Already tried. Not in any of my tests.
More unusuals? fuck that shit i will never get a unusual out of a crate.
Team Fortress 2
- Added the Deus Ex promo items
- Added a bell when the Sniper Rifle is fully charged
- Toggled in the Adv. Options dialog
- Fixed disguised Spies showing their critboost status
- Fixed a replay render bug where .wav files did not get written for raw TGA/WAV export
- Updated the localization files
Also the heavy bodygroup is just the hand itself. Aw man
I find the Spy gun pretty neat when I set out with the sole purpose of killing a teleporter back at their spawn.
As I head back to the frontlines I usually run into the Engie spychecking anything that moves; nice to just pick him off and sap the rest of his stuff for another 2 or 3 crits.
I want to get Deus Ex and these items look great, but the stats don't impress me at all. So far only the Sniper rifle sounds slightly good (though 15% isn't that much, besides on full charge standard headshot kills everyone), the rest appear great but I can't see myself using them. The cosmetic items are kickass though.
Remember when the Ambassador did that?

Get Deus Ex because it will be an amazing game, not because of the items.
PC Gamer's already given it a 94 and an Editor's Choice, so I think you're pretty safe.
That was when it got released.
Are they craftable?
