You get to shoot until everything is dead when you're at close range. It is utterly ridiculous as a self-defence weapon.
Wouldn't the other way around make more sense?
I think he wants people to make a sudden comeback from having barely any metal.
Man, too bad the Short Circuit wasn't the minigun hand. Give Engineer the heavy's minigun but it fires 1 less bullet, costing 1 metal per shot. There, now people will play Engineer!

Yeah, but if you miss just once or twice, which happens somewhat often in the twitch movements of close combat, your primary weapon is suddenly useless. It needs more damage or 2:1 metal to damage or something, right now the risk is so huge compared to the reward.
I can't decide about the Diamondback, it isn't exactly UP, but the other revolvers are a bit more straightforward.
right now the risk is so huge compared to the reward.
The reward is a 60+ damage per shot weapon that fires 5 times every 8 seconds with an infinite magazine. The risk is absolutely needed to balance out such a reward.

Right after the update came out, I played some 2fort with it. I killed a charging heavy + medic and their accompanying demo without ever having to reload, and still had 200 metal. I was banned for aimbotting.
[sp]It fucking rocks.[/sp]

I'd definitely use the Diamondback if it had a bonus damage buff towards enemy buildings. Sap them, then shoot them to death, quickening their death and getting you those valuable crits to kill the incoming engineer with!

2fort, huh?

Granted, if you were using the regular shotgun you'd probably have killed their whole team since you're on 2fort.
Except with the Widowmaker he would have done it faster because he wouldn't need to stop to reload.
I don't know, the only real problem I see with the new Engie weapons is that both drain from the metal reserve.
I wonder how could work a Righteous Bison style reload for the Short Circuit.
I don't think the Short Circuit needs the metal = ammo and no crit downside.
Oh man, if it random critted it'd do a whopping 15 damage! Woah boy, that's so broken!
And also the Wrangler is just so useful that alternate weapons need a lot more to compete with it
the widow maker needs fixed damage to metal and could use a bit of a buff
I don't think the Short Circuit needs the metal = ammo and no crit downside.
yeah it shouldn't have it
EDIT: after rethinking, The widowmaker could use less metal, 50 instead of 60, do a bit more damage or shoot faster.
The Short circuit could use 30 metal but could do no damage but destroy all enemy projectiles in a small bubble around the engi.
I don't know mate, the projectile trail is a pretty big deal.

People will see where you are after you kill them anyway v:v:v

See: Poorly thought out.
The Spy pistol is great, don't know what everyone is bitching about with it. Go cloak n dagger Spy, sap some shit. Even if someone else destroys it, as long as your sapper is on it when it explodes, you still get the free crit. Incredibly useful since crit revolver shots are very powerful.
The problem with the new revolver is that it isn't the enforcer.

Battle-engies are an amazing source of free crits.
if i had a sydney sleeper id craft it into the machina just to hear the crowd go crazy for double kills
It is so rare to find people lined up for a double kill. It is a very null attribute, but I still use the rifle. Mianly due to the +15 damage for killing dem medics.
Tracer is also very null, anyone with a brain cell can find a sniper thats shooting.

Well, the sniper is more or less revealing himself to everyone within a line of site of the victim.
If you want to talk about this on a personal level that's fine though, if the sniper misses his first shot then he is revealed. If using any other rifle the victim would most likely be blissfully unaware that they had been directly in someones sights.
It's not the biggest disadvantage to be sure, especially on maps like 2fort where snipers are to be expected. It sure could be a bitch though if you were the type to stand in an out of the way place and pick off those who would usually be distracted, for instance in the shadows of Hydro.
I don't have the Machina yet, but I do think the piercing would be particularly useful on payload defence.
All those people on the cart, asking to take at least a good 173 damage each.

I used addcond 11 to see if the Short Circuit was less useless with crits, crits don't even affect the weapon. :V
The problem with the new revolver is that it stops me from being a saharan spy
If the last few games I played are any indication, players are generally too freaking stupid to follow the big neon line back to the piss-drenched aussie who fired it.

Iunno, the moment I hear that distinct crack of a sniper rifle, I whip around and look for him, ducking under cover. Badwater is such an evil place as snipers can sit in those obscure locations on the rocks and remain nearly invisible unless you flank them. Protected by a sentry half the time.
Stealth sniping only really works for one shot, then you have to get out as the guy you killed will be screaming your location.

I love how the headshot at 0:38 wasn't even possible. Watch the laser.

For some reason, when I was making the replay, it bugged the laser so it was above where I was actually aiming.

There's a bug that renders 2 lasers per shot on the Machina as well (kinda like your vid), so...

I always thought that was lag.
