I feel like the only one who never gave a fuck about the artstyle, mainly because I started playing when the devil's playhouse promos came out
Nah, I couldnt give less of a toss about the artstyle either.
Oh wow, we get new Engineer weapons finally?! I'm so ha- ... Artstyle breaking promo items, some of which are overpowered? Really? Wow, Valve, how many times are you going to kick your fans in the nuts? I'm sick and tired of TF2 now. After the fuckin' raygun for Soldier bullshit, I haven't touched TF2 just because of how sick and fucking tired I was of it all, and then I heard Engineer got new weapons and I was excited, and they're promo items from fucking Deus Ex? This is a joke, and not in the funny ha ha sort of way or the "we're just playing, we wouldn't do that" way, but in the sad pathetic way. It's like they don't even care anymore. Let the players eat shit, look at all this "free" stuff we gave them. Free game, free items, it's all free to them. Well, Valve, it's not free. Some of us paid into this "free" game with our own money, many of us before there were even "free" updates to the game. You're selling out to advertisement and it's horrible. And we were fine when these items actually FIT the artstyle of the game. Now? It doesn't even seem like you care anymore. Well, neither do I. And while I'm just one player and you still have thousands upon millions of players still playing TF2, I'm sure I'm not alone. I'm done with TF2. Forget it, what's the point? The game primarily takes place in a fight for New Mexico by mercenaries who use weapons made by Australians. The Australians also invented teleportation, cloaking, and shapeshifting in the 19th century. Aberaham LINCOLN was a fucking pyro maniac in this war. >this breaks the art style I don't play Deus Ex, I don't even KNOW if these are weapons in the game. I just know it looks like a semi-blocky revolver, a brown blocky bolt-action shot gun, a black chunky sniper rifle, and a robot hand that shoots THUNDER.

I'm getting sick of babies who complain about breaking art style. These promos are honestly for the better, and while it may have its pros and cons, the pros end up outweighing the cons. Let's take a look at the Pros: + Adds new content for the game. + Helps developers increase sales. + Help Indie developers who usually never get their game heard sold more. + Helps Valve get more out of their share of the profits sold on Steam. + Adds new content for the Mann-Co Store for free to play players to buy, thus giving Valve more money. + Allows players to customize their loads outs to their liking, giving them a little independence and their own look. The money given to Valve + other devs keeps the companies strong and have more funding for new titles. The cons: - Adds new content for the game (it can get a little overbearing with the amount of weapons there are). - Some items don't fit the art style. - Affects economy because of status, but this is mainly the player base's fault. Do you see? When you have a winning formula that increases sales and increases YOUR income, fuck all with the art style. Is it really that big of a deal? I think player customization is a huge plus. EDIT: Let's break your post down Skunkrocker.
This is a joke, and not in the funny ha ha sort of way or the "we're just playing, we wouldn't do that" way, but in the sad pathetic way. Again, any company who puts their game on Steam has to share the profits to Valve for using their service. So, no, it isn't free.
You're selling out to advertisement and it's horrible. TF2 has been their testing game and it still is. They built a formula that works to increase profits, so what? That's not selling out, that's genius. Who in the hell would have thought that simple shit like cosmetic hats and miscellaneous items would be enough to start topping the pre-order charts?
Well, neither do I. I personally love the Deus Specs on the Pyro. Even in really dark areas they tend to glow brightly. Makes the Pyro look menacing from afar. [thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/596946075159607415/29D378A1BA030885250844501A620E9403FFD998/[/thumb]

Name ONE thing that doesn't fit that.

Personally the only thing i hate about this game is how hard are the items to get i mean look at the rarity of them on tf2stats that's how the currency should be.
You realise that isn't a good thing when it's used on things like From Dust and Homefront.
I don't see why not. It might not be a good thing to you because the game is mediocre/is run by a publisher who fucks over its customers, but to the people who developed/published the game it is a huge plus.
Pyromancer's Maks and the Sight for sore eyes is better imo.
I still think the sight for sore eyes fits with the napper's respite better. The eyes look tired like they should do.
I still think the sight for sore eyes fits with the napper's respite better. The eyes look tired like they should do.
I agree. The sight doesn't fit with the pyromancer's, because it makes the pyro look "funny", while the specs make him look scary
Do people realize that the community can just fix the art style themselves with weapon replacements?
Do people realize that the community can just fix the art style themselves with weapon replacements?
sv_pure
The only things that actually break the artstyle are the Sam and Max and Wroms items. All the other ones actually do have TF2's style. Now theme is a different story, but if you still care at this point you could go play another online FPS game. Just too bad that all the other online FPS games suck worse than TF2 ever could, even with all the promos in the world.
Can anyone else not go to the Mann store or open the items menu? JUST AS I GET MONEY FOR KEYS, I CAN'T BUY THEM.
